Never shoot anything if you aren't pretty sure of a clean kill. Those "hunters" are morons. Trying to shoot a running hog from a moving vehicle on rough ground with a ******* .22 pistol (and not even a good one) at 25 yards is ludicrous and furthermore unfair to the animal. Those hogs have a thick shield at the shoulder protecting vital organs and a fairly thick skull. He would be very unlikely to kill it cleanly with the first shot if it was locked in a 3x5 foot pen.
And the lack of muzzle direction safety discipline was making my skin crawl.
