PF-9 is a great gun. I'm considering picking one up for my daily carry, would have sooner, just haven't had the time or money lately. Not a fan of guns with colors, I like old fashion all black/blue, or all silver/polished.

Emma FTW!

Agreed, especially a turd brown. lol. I don't even want silver/nickel.

I gave $260 for it, though -- Kinda bent over a dealer but did give him cash... Asked one of the dealers who had a black one marked $329 what his bottom dollar price was for cash, he came back with "$329. We're a licensed dealer and HAVE to charge tax." Right, and you HAVE To charge $40 over retail for it too. Explained to him I wasn't expecting to not pay tax, he gave me a cockeyed look and I walked to the next table and bought their gun instead.

Ordered some black duracoat to refinish my mosin nagant and thought for 10 seconds about spraying the frame black but its not worth the hassle of breaking it down. The color is growing on me.

I wrote a new song today walking around the gunshow:

Start a retail business..
Like a boss!
Pack up inventory..
Like a boss!
Travel the country..
Like a boss!
$55.00 a table..
Like a boss!
Expect retail prices..
Like a boss!
Sell Nothing!!
Like a boss!
Lose money..
Like a boss!
Pack all your ****..
Like a boss!
Travel the country..
Like a boss!

Latest project:

I'm FAR more knowledgeable about the inside of this ******* thing than I EVER wanted to be. Bought it off craigslist for $20 because it needed a digitizer. Not sure at this point if something else is wrong with it which is why its operating in parts on my workbench.

It constantly prompts me to slide to power off. Is that normal with a low battery? Started to suspect the power/sleep button might be sticky, so I've actually unhooked it as you can see in the pl0x but it prompted me again until I plugged it in.

Never owned one of these before so I'm not 100% sure what behavior to expect. Forgot these things had wifi and did not realize it has bluetooth. Admittedly if I can get a new battery and the power off prompting issue resolved this might be an enjoyable purchase.

ipod $20.00
Digitizer $14.00 shipped
Battery should be $10 shipped
Power button (maybe?) $4 shipped..

Its prompting by itself, or when you hit the power button?

On its own. I even disconnected the ribbon cable for the ****** power button. Still does it.

Someone on a forum suggested upgrade to os4 which seemed to make the problem worse. Attempted to restore in itunes and appears to have bricked the ******* thing. Just stuck @ the connect itunes screen.

Strange. Guess the USB took a **** on my computer.

Rebooted and it found the ipod right away, then prompted for the restore and continued successfully. Still have to figure out what the issue with it wanting to power off all the time is. Checked the ribbon cable inside the case best I could, doesn't seem to be damaged at all... Can't believe I actually managed to install this new digitizer then REMOVE it without breaking the thing...

Don't think sw had anything to do with the sleep / slide to power off issue or battery for that matter. Now it'll actually put itself to sleep, then wake back up and prompt to power off... WTF? Stupid apple. . .

Ninja Edit: It didn't restore to the backup OS, still at 4.2.1. Oops. Gonna try again I guess. At this point the unit is impossible to use at the rate it sleep/wake and prompting to power off.

Download a program called "tinyumbrella". This will allow you to enter/exit DFU mode. You can actually enter the DFU mode easily, but exiting requires this little flash program. Once in it, go to itunes and click "restore". Then it'll ask for a restore file, click on a file of OS 3.xx you've downloaded (available through a number of sites, or me), and it'll load your 3.x OS. Then use TinyUmbrella to exit DFU mode. Voila, 3.x iphone.

Just did this last night. If you have a iPhone 3/3g/3gs, do NOT upgrade to anything 4.x, it'll run much slower.

more instructions:
http://www.intomobile.com/2008/09/25...our-iphone-os/

That's not technically a power button, it's the lock button. Locks the screen so you don't touch stuff in your pocket. I haven't turned my iPhone off in months. You're supposed to press and hold it for 5ish seconds and then it'll prompt to power off. My guess is something else is fucked up.

I can get into DFU using the home and sleep button. When attempting to restore from a downloaded version itunes says extracting then I get an error code 20. "The ipod elesjuan could not be restored. an unknown error occurred. (20)" Have downloaded five or six different versions and get the same 'unknown' error. Every ******' time.

I really want to shoot this thing. Why the **** would they not allow you to revert back to <4.0???? IDIOTS... Seriously don't understand what the **** is going on here. Hardware wise this thing seems to be functioning 100%, its just some ******y software garbage, which upgrading to 4.x made 10,000,000,000x worse!

Yup, you're supposed to get that error code.

Use TinyUmbrella to exit DFU mode and it should be working on os 3.x

I'm telling you, I did this just yesterday from the latest 4.x version to an older 3.x version, I believe 3.1.x. If the instructions on the website I gave you don't work, you have hardware issues.

I don't understand how that could even work. It took 20 minutes to upgrade to 4.2.1 and less than 10 seconds to fail downgrade...

Put the ipod in DFU.
Opened itunes
Prompts me the unit has to be restored.
Shift+Restore
Select the firmware
Status bar at the top says "Extracting..."
After it completes extracting, LESS THAN ONE SECOND LATER says Error 20.
I click on okay then open up tinyumbrella and exit dfu.
Still in 4.2.1 because nothing happened. . .

If You're so ******* brilliant, where is your suggestion?

Fact: Apple designed ios4 to stop you from reverting back to previous versions. Gee, That sure is my fault right? Again, **** you apple.
Fact: The unit had a physical defect (broken touchscreen) when I bought it.
Fact: There is a major software problem with it now which every known "fix" for has failed.
Fact: The original issue of prompting "slide to power off" has become significantly more frequent and much worse since the software upgrade. I might mention, physically disconnecting the sleep button which has to be held for that prompt to appear does not stop the issue.
Fact: This software defect renders the device completely useless.

I've been building my own roms and os's for cellular telephone pdas over 10 years now. The most complicated build of an OS wasn't half of the bullshit I've had to jump over in attempts to fix this.

Fact: I'm going to blow this ******* thing to tiny pieces. It'll be worth my $24 to turn it into dust.
