For those of you not keeping up with Miataforumz.com, this awesome race footage was posted by a member there. It also has an in-your-face Lotus versus Lambo wreck that the driver barely avoided being in the middle of. Enjoy.

Wreck is at 12:40... looks like the white Miata(slower traffic) screwed it away by coming completely across the track out of the right-hander. The Lambo tries to go around him on the outside and ends up getting pushed into in the dirt. I'm not up to speed on what is appropriate though. Im sure the Miata didn't know the Lambo was there the Lotus was just wrong place at wrong time.

What do you do in that case if you're the slower traffic?

Personally i think its the lambos fault. Miata was already on the outside on that turn, the lambo tried to cut it off which the dude in the miata didnt see, lambo went in the dirt, tried to get back on the road, bumped the miata and spun out. If it had been the miatas fault, it would have ended up in the dirt to the left.

the miata should have stayed to the right and out of the race line, looks like the lambo was passing and got squeezed into the dirt and that spun him out.

The lambo spun out when he bumped the miata trying to get back on the road.

That yellow lambo was pissing me off the whole time before that even happened, so it almost seemed fitting.

I feel bad for the lotus if anything.

Funny, the trackdays I do, we always get told to keep to the racing line and let faster cars find their way around you. This keeps you predictable, instead of swerving all over to keep off the racing line instead.

Same here, to the right on straights, race line in corners. I would hate overtaking someone who changes line as I get close.

Slower traffic holds their line, assuming there isnt a car in the way. both parties are responsible for knowing where each other are at all times. Because of this, it is hard to say who is actually at fault here.

Ding! We have a winner! You are supposed to maintain ther racing line to be predictable. It is always the responsibility of the car doing the passing to chose if/when/where/how to pass in a safe manner and to wait until there is a safe opportunity to execute the pass. The Lambo driver was doing a crappy job from the word "go" so I am also not surprised.

I didn't post it only for the wreck. Why would you skip the good racing just to see the wreck? You guys and your shadenfreude, lol. Besides, the racing adds context to the wreck. Races are stories. Stories that made you care about whose **** it was and why it was farting.

Slower traffic holds their line Brainy, you are responsible if you choose to pass.

The Lambo was driving like a serious douche at several points in that video, I would not want to be on the same track as him. You cannot see clearly what happened in that video, but I think at least the lambo's douchy crap contributed in no small part to that accident.
