Do you rent? If you do, you pay MORE taxes than a homeowner.

Your landlord has to pay rent on your property, and since he can't lose money by paying rent, he charges it to you. When property taxes go up, so too does your rent.

Here's the real kicker though. If the dwelling isn't used for profits, the homeowner actually get significant reductions on the taxable amount. So your landlord actually pays higher taxes on your property than you would if you owned the property, these are taxes that he has to pass on to you, the renter.

Food for thought - though your "property taxes" aren't "city taxes" - your "city taxes" come out of your wages.

To the OP's comment though, we may pay city taxes, but you pay those same taxes, you just pay them differently in the form of a higher state tax, or higher property taxes, or higher sales taxes? Vehicle registration taxes? My city tax pays for curbside trash collection, do you pay a separate company to collect your garbage? Just sayin'

Holy ----... I've been watching clips from this show on Youtube for months now, and this is one of the more comical ones I have seen. If I was as uninformed and uneducated as some of these people, I would not call in to a show.

Yeah it is. I wish I had a local show like that to watch/listen to. I've passed many an hour in the last few months with that show and some of the completely ludicrous callers and some of the things they say. Really reveals how uninformed so many people of religion and faith are in America. Which probably has a lot to do with why America is one of the last modern countries with a population over 50% who believe in a god. A lot of the rest of the "modern" world is down in the 20%, 30% or maybe 40% range, where as America is a ridiculous 85%+. I like to think a lot of that are just people who don't really care and just label themselves Christian because that is what they were raised as.

PS, Matt Dillahunty is a really brilliant, well spoken guy. Very sharp intellect, and very informed on many things.
