I cannot imagine any normal circumstances (eg: not trapped on a deserted island) under which I would say to myself "This 3lb block of cheese looks good- I'll bring that with me as an afternoon snack."

I ate a bunch of cheese saturday;
I had a bellatiole, a cranberry goat cheese, and an aged gouda.
All before a onion confit grilled cheese with taleggio and asiago. I also had a few bites of a plimento and cheese grilled cheese.
