Honestly, it's not that bad. I was the same way, to tell you the truth. Even though I've worked in the city on and off for years (always short-term contracts), I'd turned down a couple of offers for permanent gigs here mostly because I was just too attached to SoCal.

But I finally got an offer that compelled me, and to be honest, I'm happy I took it. The benefits of living here outweigh the costs.
