I'm about to get a new apartment, but money is going to be tight. I think $355 after food and all bills including fuel and 1 monthly track day is not enough.
The $605 student loan payment sucks...it also sucks that I'll probably get shipped out again for work in a few months, and all that rent will go into a black hole...by my roommates suck at life, and need to get out of that ****.

Have you considered refi'ing that student loan for a longer term? Student loan interest is stupid cheap and tax deductable. Might be a good Idea unless you owe a huge ton of cash on it.

you are wrong. You will not find an interest rate from private loans less than 9%, and I'm already on a 20-year term. No company will offer a better rate because they don't have to. I'm stuck. I've tried and tried, over and over. It will not get better on student loans.

I typically have 0% left over after I spend the 'play' money. :gay:
And I got a bunch of crap I don't need too. It's good for the economy.

Asking a board full of people who spend money on frivolous things like cars about how much you "should" have is probably not the best idea in the world. While I'm sure not all of us live paycheck to paycheck, it's all a matter of restraint in spending.
I keep expecting a thread along the lines of:
"So I got drunk at this party the other night, and sucked my friend off. Do you think that makes me gay?"
Seriously, how old are you? You've been on your own for quite a while right? Look back over the last year and build youself a budget based on that. Simple stuff. You have X amount coming in, Y amount going out ... it'll sort itself out.
