Android Bionic vs Iphone 4s
#23
For anyone else looking at the iphone vs android, check out the amoled screens on the android phones. They are the plasma screens of phones. The galaxy nexus has a contrast ratio of 100,000:1. That's over 100 times better than your typical lcd tv (dynamic contrast ratio doesn't count).

$199. Never judge apple products by their initial price, which was $499 I believe for the 4s. They do that because they have a loyal (read, idiotic) fan base that's willing to spend $300 extra if it means they can have it a month early. Their mobile devices are actually quite affordable. The 3gs is free, and the 4 that I have is only $99. This all assumes a 2 year contract.
Slightly off topic, but it's no longer unlimited, AFAIK. I sit in a closest staring at monitors all night for 8 hours, so I stream a lot of netflix and pandora. I was above 11gb one month before I found out one of the wireless networks at work will work with netflix. Anyways I was apparently in the top 5% of data users in my region, got a couple texts warning me about it, and they severely limited my speeds. Apparently our area is usually around 10gb, although other regions can limit your unlimited data to around 4 or 5gb.
But just a couple weeks ago I got a message saying that data usage is now capped at 3gb for the unlimited. So now they crank down our speeds over 3gb, although hopefully we still avoid overage charges.
This times one million. I ---- with my car, motorcycle, indoor and outdoor household projects, etc. I want my phone to work perfectly when I'm in my bed, on the toilet, or out drunk texting. The iphone does that perfectly.

TouchWiz is a treanwreck of a UI, all the other ROM's i've tried don't hold a candle to iOS, MIUI isn't bad but it's still not great.
iOS just works
I'd happily swap anyone an iPhone4 for my SGS2...

So I get an email whilst playing GTA3 on my i device. I swap to the mail app and read the mail, GTA3 gets put in a paused state.
Why is this an issue for you? Why does it matter if the app is running in the background or not, you've only 1 screen to view anything anyway?!?

Here's a good summary.

The kicker:
That's it in a nutshell. You guys want to drive the Camry of the phone world, that's cool. That's all I'm saying. I'd rather have a PC than a Mac, and I'd rather have an Android than an iPhone.
But the weird part to me is that the iPhone is like the Camry...if Camry drivers, rather than being generally uninterested in all things automotive and only wanted a driving appliance, somehow became militant in their belief that the Camry was the greatest car ever designed and that it was the best car for everyone's purposes.
I don't mind people driving Camry's...but I'd get pretty tired of Camry fanboys, if such a thing existed.

The kicker:
The bottom line is that, in its visual implementation, Apple's handling of multitasking is more approachable and elegant. Android's multitasking has the advantage of working with all apps, but the way it's implemented lacks grace and vision.
