I have a bigger screen but can see far less, pointless.

Adjust the landscape keyboard height.

I don't have FB. I use K9 mail, not Android's built-in email.

Nice ninja pic edit.

Now try it when replying to a text message

dustinb 08-05-2012 12:24 PM

I'm on my third android device. Started with a HTC Legend, then went to a Google Nexus One. After that I bought a Sony Xperia Arc. I just force installed the international version of ICS onto it to get rid of the carriers bloat ware. I'll pick up a new phone in the new year, but pretty undecided how I want to go. I think I want to stay in the 4.2/4.3" screen size, but I definitely want multiple cores.

I am with Hustler.

I don't see the appeal. You see only one line of text. Which forces Apple users to use texts as an instant message substitute rattling off 5 word texts one after the other. For what? just so you can see what you are replying too? Have fun cluttering up the airwaves. I would rather have 3 lines of text so I can write down my complete thought, proof read what I wrote and edit easily.

On the other hand, why dont you tell me how much stuff Android could do out of the box for years that iOS still cant?

I heard you guys are finally getting turn by turn directions. Only took 3 years.

I have said it before and I will say it again, using iOS is like being a guest in your own house.

It's ---- all to do with android vs iPhone either, it's a general UI glitch of which in android there's far to many for it to be pleasant to use.

How many people are jail breaking their phones though?

If you want to compare rooted phones then android owns iOS period end of story. Hell, I don't even have to root my phone to install non market apps.

How's flash support on iOS coming along?

richyvrlimited 08-06-2012 01:59 PM

I wasn't aware.

In any case, the point stands. While it was alive the iPhone never had it. How much did that anger the end users especially since so many sites relied on it to present their content. Granted, flash was never intended to really be used on mobile devices.

I hear you though, I dont want to get into it either. But some of the stuff is undeniable and is signature apple. Why? Because they can is not a reason.

I've been running cm stuff for the last 4 years. I just read bug reports and upgrade accordingly. they started running nightly's which is pretty cool. It's like nix now on development releases.

I have a galaxy phone and have nothing but great things to say about it. It's been a remarkably durable phone. I have dropped it more times then i can count. AMOLED rocks. you get amazing picture and contrast and don't ever have to worry about breaking your screen.

I wouldn't hesitate to load a cm rom on a samsung phone in warranty. especially with how durable my galaxy has been. if the main reason for swapping would be the input form i'm not sure i'd bother though.

We had to replace her GS2 because the screen cracked.

When she dropped it from chest height onto a tile floor, that is.

krissetsfire 08-06-2012 02:46 PM

lol i guess the gs2 doens't have this

i have the epic4g. yeah well clearwire is dead and sprint has not gotten off their asses and done anything about it. i work in communications wireless stuff specifically and am familial with progression. My latency is terrible for one. my 3g's avg speed is about 200kpbs. i roam, a lot. I live in a city 1mil+, roaming agreement with other providers sucks. I may as well have some pay as you go bullshit because i think sprint cheeped out on their roaming agreements.

my phone dies constantly cause it's searching for signal for the whole god damn day. insult to injury i pay for "premium data" and have for 2 years for nothing. perfectly happy with my phone. want to kick sprint in the junk for making me pay for stuff i can't use.

company pays for half my phone though and soon as contract is up i will be on to breaking company iphones.

concealer404 08-06-2012 02:55 PM

nobody has the flexible one yet. samsung just started production of them. however the amoled screen is MUCH more durable to it's alternatives with the exception of gorilla glass.

Also i guess the Epic4g has a lot more durable design. It's pretty rare to see any with broken screens.

This, which troubles me as I like what hustler has done.

Anyone else managed to silence the camera without silencing the rest of the phone

Also why are there only 8 overall volume positions? I want more granularity, weirdly some apps are fine, but the launchers aren't.

not sure if this will answer your question but to manage apps hold down your home key all your current windows open will pop up you can scroll through them (including your camera) and swipe them to the side to close them.

There is a mod for finer volume control but you need to be rooted with a recovery to install it.

GTFO, I'm not having a redneck telling me how to speak English!! Granularity is a synonym of coarseness, something your boyfriend complains about of your anus....

Of low, common, or inferior quality.
2.
a. Lacking in delicacy or refinement: coarse manners.
b. Vulgar or indecent: coarse language.
3. Consisting of large particles; not fine in texture: coarse sand.
4. Rough, especially to the touch: a coarse tweed.
wanting something to have more granularity is a perfectly acceptable/alternate way of asking for more resolution, or less coarseness or smaller steps or more linearity etc etc.

It's not so much I want the camera silent, it's just stupid loud at whatever volume you pick.

Maybe using granularity for more refinement in controls is a British thing, but it's not 'wrong' :)

i said I hate it, not that it was wrong. you can talk about the granularity of sandpaper or fish tank rocks or milled corn if you wish.

I have a dual core 1.5GHz phone, and I do not miss speed. Maybe more memory, this phone only has 32GB and no SD card slot.

Reverant 08-07-2012 01:38 PM

On a semi-related note, my phone came with a 1500mAh charger, and charges from 10% to 100% in 70 minutes flat. Loving it.

From what I've read, there isn't much difference in speed with everyday usage for the one x, quad vs dual.

The reason we haven't received the quad, is whatever chip manufacturer makes the soc hasn't made an lte- compatible chip yet.

Anyone know why my phone (SGS2), won't adjust the earpiece volume mid call unless I move the handset away from my head until the screen lights up.

Then and only then will the volume change.

This happens on stock firmware, CM7, CM9 and MIUI.
