Yeah.

Clearly he has a different definition of "done" then us.

But kudos to him, for doing so much work to get a car with the power of a 1.6 GReddy Miata.

Is that the same thread that's titled "drifting pretty" or something similar?

I was browsing CR the other day and clicked on that thread only to be amazed by what a hunk of **** he was creating. Lots of work no doubt, but such a hunk of ****.

I never saw the want to put a 5.0l in anything. They make little horsepower and now ls1's and 6.0L's can be had for under $1000 so if you wanted to do anything I would do that. (If I was gonna go V8 :] ) On top of that it is a horrible representation of a swap. It is cheap in every way and it still looks slow I will never understand this. Why not just throw some rods and pistons in a 1.8L and boost the **** out of it for better results. To each his own and I am sure his buddies think it is the coolest thing ever. This coming from the guy with the car that is love or hate and no in between and on m.net its all hate.lol

Smaller, cleaner swaps, and a lot of guys know them well. Its also a bit cheaper to do the 5.0 swap yet they bring more $$ when done right. Jason's pulled over 20k out of his a few times (he's on build #4) with decent engines and minor suspension work done.

Some cats like spool, others like instant torque on demand. Its also FAR easier to pull 400rwhp out of the 5.0 then it is the 1.8.

I can see if you really are going to modify the 5.0L because with heads and a cam they make decent power but in pretty much stock form like this one I would rather make the power out of the 4 cyl. Also I am bias to the LS because I have done a decent amount of work with them and know a ton of people with them. Plus I am a huge fan of fuel injection. I realize most swapped 5.0L are but this one is not.

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about this one. I'm talking about 5.0's that are done right, not one that makes less power then a Greddy swapped stock 4 cylinder.

I'm really trying hard to keep my thoughts and opinions out on his build

I was talking more so about this one in particular. I did play with the idea of going 5.0L before my swap but the 2J was just to cheap and I am to stubborn to just let it go. I would rather walk into uncharted territory and fail then have the same junk everyone else has already, but that is just me personally. I would like to ride in a nice 5.0L miata and see how it compares to a boosted 4 cyl, my car, and an LS miata. Just to see the differences in all of them.

Edelbrock carb FTL.... no wonder it didn't make any power. Holly > edelbrock. But really, get a vic jr copy intake setup for port injection and megasquirt the ****. Of course stock mustang heads are f'n garbage, flow like 160cfm intake side, probably shittier than a stock 1.6 motor.

miata motors are overrated. the only thing america does right is build big, guzzing, power making v8s. might as well take advantage of it

I like the wide body and I kinda like the wing but the baby tires defiantly kill the look from the back.

I really like those flares. According to him, 9s are too grippy.
Ah well, IMO, at least he's sticking with the miata theme of keeping it super-gay. Needs more pink/teal/baby blue
