I'm a big rally fan.
I've helped with the 100 Acre Wood Rally in southern Missouri since 2002 (or was it 2001?), usually running start or finish controls. Finish controls are great since you get to drive from the start control to finish after the stage roads are closed. Then sometimes if you forget something you have to drive back to start, then to finish again
I've got a close friend with a PGT 2001 Subaru. He ran 100AW last year and will be running it this year too. I helped crew for him at Rally de Paris (Paris TX) a few months back.
The guy who organized the 100AW rally up until last year is a regular competitor at our rallycross events that I help organize.
I've met both Ken Block and Travis Pastrana. The were both out of the cars and wandering around bored during a long stage delay last year. Ken seems like a pretty normal guy, but I'm not sure what to think of Pastrana. I have a hard time telling if he's being genuine, or if he's 'acting' in case there's a camera on him somewhere. Neither one ever attends the post-rally banquets, they just drop in to say hi and leave again. That was Ken's car from last year that he used for the jump. He has a new one for this year.
