Default Ate a new Mustang GT LOL

2nd gear roll on - I had to let off so as not to run up his ***. He had a stick. He let off eventually and I pulled alongside ... he pretended I was invisible.

I thought they'd be quicker, but they're 300 hp 3500 lbs. My car has > 240 whp and a portly 2450 lbs...

They get even more embarrassed when it's an Escort that curb-stomps them :o

Sleeper FTW! I have a friend who drives a smashed up 240 (hit a wall at an autox, don't ask) with a **** paint job and steelies, but it has an rb20 under the hood. It's epic when mustang and porsche drivers don't know what just rocked them.

Not surprised by this thread. I rolled my friends GT at half throttle with a malfunctioning boost control.

Now his brothers charger was a bit harder, having a working boost control made it a lot easier.

It's pretty amazing when you have a 250hp Miata what is no longer considered a fast car. What is fast to me now is taken up several notches. Modded Evo's, newer turbo Porsche's, Zo6's, etc. Lots of cars I used to want and admire aren't so fast anymore. Stock evo / sti, gt mustangs, boxter/cayman, C5 vettes (non Z06) all don't seem so impressive anymore.

I'm surprised that after 8 years my car is still pretty fast compared to fast hardware out there. I thought by now I'd need a 15 psi 8000 RPM motor.

I'm thinking that 350hp in my car and it would only be heavily built cars and true exotics that would get my respect.

Built motor in my future? Let's hope the economy turns so I can justify spending more money!

i've watched paul pull on a modded cobra at 300whp. 350 may be overkill lol. then again, there is now such thing as to much power

As a small business owner who doesn't sell a single item than anyone HAS to own I'm pretty well screwed.

Where's the damn bailout for the game room industry!!!

hey jason, what does your car trap in the quarter mile?
congrats on the kill, but I am a bit bothered by all this "nothing impresses me" talk in this thread (not by you though). Please dont take this the wrong way, but around here an evo/sti that is considered "modded" traps 120+ and you would definitely get a run for your money.

ps: my subaru ran a best of 11.8@114 (shitty driving but thats no excuse) and was considered by most with real "modded" cars to be slow. The only respect and "OMG UR **** IS FAST" that I got was from stock evo or mildly bolt on sti's/wrx's along with all the ricers in their civics. The actual "modded" guys around here told me it was marginally "ok" and to step up my game. I guess "modded" is a VERY relative and loosely used term

Evo's and STI's are so commonly built to 450+hp any more that it's sickening. Yes, big hp and AWD kicks butt. Right now stockers don't scare me any more but you never know when someone has 600hp under there!

Anything sub 12 is serious to me. Anyone that laughs at sub 12 cars likely doesn't have something that can be driving daily reliably and comfortably or it's unreal expensive.

Paul's car is also substantially lighter than a stock miata.

I beat a GT to 60 mph a few weeks ago. N/A. Need more turbo so I can stomp them rather than pull them.

God those doors are heavy. I just put them back on today so I can drive the car to dyno day in the rain predicted for Saturday. 53lbs each with manual mirrors and windows. Not easy carrying those bitches up/down the attic folding stairs.

bullshit, they run in the 13s stock. i had a atleast slightly modded one pull the **** out of my lincoln, and its a lowish 14sec car the way it sits now. i let off at 60 and he was doing about 80-90.

well in his defense he did say to 60.....maybe the mustang couldnt find traction/bogged/mis shifted/etc??? I mean 60 comes up really quick, lots of shitty drivers will lose that kind of race, and the car will make up for it at higher speeds...Just because a car is capable of 13's stock doesnt mean the driver is capable of getting it there....just a thought
