Default bought a subaru - general tuning questions

I got tired of driving around my 3/4 ton diesel truck and got a 06 sti. It has a front mount intercooler with tial BOV and an aftermarket downpipe with a tial wastegate vented to atmosphere with a ghetto stainless tube. I'm going to drop a sti TMIC back into it with a recirculating bypass valve which means moving the MAF pre-turbo. Right now the MAF is after the BOV. Assuming I don't touch anything else I shouldn't expect fuel or timing to change much if I'm not running too much boost, right? Does MAF location matter as long it's seeing all the air?

I'd also like to make a real wastegate pipe and weld it back into the downpipe. Here I'm thinking fuel will need to be fixed, but does VTA vs running it back into the downpipe make a big difference for fuel/timing?

I got an access port but need a wideband and wb bung welded. Haven't really looked through the tuning software much yet to see if it's easy to use. The right thing to do is probably get the wideband in there and log it before messing with anything else...

Gaped pusha, cleaned up, and here I am:

Everything will change. Needs to be completely re-tuned.

Install the tmic you bought from me last night, get it back to stage2 (or sgt2+ewg if you want to keep that) and bring it over I'll t00n the sh*t out of it for you via opensource. Then you can ditch the crapcessport and recoup the cost of tuning with money left over.

PS: if you want to tune it yourself and need a tactrix I have a brand new one sitting right here for ya

hmmm... tactrix. I need to do some reading. AWD kills all my favorite dyno options down here in the south bay. No one I know has 4 dynapack units. Looks like street tuning and a trip to the east bay or sac are my only choices.

This is the only forum I'm on where I can post a legitimate car/tech question and come back and my thread is NSFW.

The best part of this forum is the quick downward spiral into smutville every thread takes while also answering legitimate questions with accurate answers.

EW crapcessport

Buy a tactrix...live on the forums.. tune it yourself.

The diameter of the piping before/after the maf sensor as well as will completely change the reading and you will need to retune. You also need to make sure there is no significant turbulant flow, so avoid putting it right near a bend.
