In the past month, I've called 3 insulators for our attic, 5 carpet cleaners, 4 chimney sweeps and 5 garage builders. I'll be damned if I got ONE of them to return a ******* phone call within a week. You know who I paid to do the work thus far? The local one-man-show independent business owner who lists his company in either the church bulletin or the REAL newspaper classifieds.
On top of that, the day my dad returns my ******* welder for the project he's been 'planning to do' for the last 8 months is the day I die.
Recession my ***. Nobody wants to ******* work anymore. Period. Lazy ********. Grrrrrrr

I've noticed this lately. People bitch and complain about there being no work, yet when work comes along they turn it down. Must not be too in need of work then. At work nearly every day, people bitch and complain that there isn't enough work, and say they want to quit and go elsewhere. Then a car comes in to work on and people start bitching and fighting over who HAS to do it, because it's not "gravy work", which is extremely easy, and well paying jobs. Well ****, be broke then, you lazy *****.

I remember fixing PCs for a living.... 10 years ago there was some sort of market as I recall. It wasnt much of a market but you could make a few bucks. Often times my close friends would say "come over and help me get this new **** running" which often resulted in me doing everything. And apparently when you work for free that includes LIFETIME warranty repair also.
I got out of PC repair. I did ok for the couple of years I did it. I needed the cash, had to hustle a bit and didnt turn away the work as I needed the cash... so thats that. I hated half the customers most of the time, but they paid my debt. I recall one lady asking me to remove the onboard modem and give her some cash back.... I am sure each and everyone of you who has fixed pcs or worked in IT know the type of dolts that are out there.
People are lazy and dont give a ****. Im ok with not being lazy but wish i gave less of a **** more of the time. I hate gong to bed and worrying about crap, it creates stress.
It seems that alot of the kids locally and say in the mid 20's are totally useless. I don't know many but most of them are apparently entitled to 60k a year jobs with no grade 12. It's crazy. I blame consoles. LOL
As for my bros in law, yea, he will never make a good contractor or painter, but, when he does the job he does it better than my actual contractor friend..... The ceiling paint did go on the walls perfect and he did 'ceiling (sealer)' the trim very well. It can be hard work, I don't blame my bro in law for hating to do it.

Eventually we got it taken care of, but even the guy that finally came to do the work wanted the easy way out, rather than doing it right.
We get phone calls and faxes at the shop daily for new jobs. We call ALL of them back no matter what. The only way we don't take a job is if the customer is too far away or the job is too small.
We actually just did a full house foundation in PA this past week. 3 hours driving time lost everyday just to get the job.

Wait, what is your brother in law doing living with you? And why don't you torture him with stories of how much his sister loves ---- until he gets his own damn room painted? Or make sure he catches you on the couch devouring ***** like it's the secret to eternal life. That will fix ALL of your problems.

Last April1 i ran into his room and told him not to panick but that someone smashed his windows and keyed his car. He had been asleep maybe 5 hours from night shift. He was so out of it, went out to visually inspect the car and he was so convincing that my visiting mother went out to inspect with him.. 2 for 1
He's easy to troll.
I once left meatspin open in a tab on his pc for like a week, he never noticed.
We have bought properties together and its worked out really well so far.. so yea, we live with eachother. lol.. step up from living with my parents.

It took me almost 2 full months to finally find a company to come and fix our HVAC problems. I now have about 10 local HVAC companies on my **** list due to their unresponsiveness and overall lazy attitude toward me (the customer).
Eventually we got it taken care of, but even the guy that finally came to do the work wanted the easy way out, rather than doing it right.

There's still a bunch of contractors out there who must think it will magically go back to 2005 tomorrow and then they'll be back in the big-time new-constuction $$. When that doesn't happen, they'll find out about customer service or disappear.
