Hard Dog Ace, it looks like. It sits between the shoulder belt towers in order to sit a bit further back and lower for maximum "streetability" and "no-cracka-da-skull" factors.

I've considered one since my car will basically just be a sunny-day daily/weekend driver, but year, it looks a little funny.

Maybe they cut it back like that to see the extent if the damage?

No idea man, I don't understand why you would cut them at all unless you're doing over fenders.

Sometime insurance adjusters have parts/panels removed to be able to determine the full extent of damage.

No, the panel is already screwed up. I help fix all sorts of cars from copart, and lots of auction cars are cut out like that.

A cut that uneven almost looks like more work than a straight line? Do they just bring in their own Faeflora and tell him to go nuts?

People that work in wrecking yards are worse than faeflora.

the ****** rotary is a terrible engine for those people that like a car that works.
most of us here prefer the sexy FD's with a good 'ol 'Muricuhh v8 in it
