crazy miata idea (PINKS)
It came to me in a dream........
I thought of the ultimate PINKS car and a way to pull off an uber miata sleeper.
Ok, it would be a rear mounted turbo utilizing it's own oil sump and pump. The gas tank would have to be modified to a tiny 3-4gallon unit to make room for tucking the turbo which would sit high up, next to the gas tank.
Oh yeah, charge piping. Well get this ****. Have a 3"-3.5" header-back exhaust which is actually 2 D shaped pipes welded together. One for exhaust and one to carry pressurized air back into the driver side fender to the stock airbox, which would of course be connected to the stock intake tube.
The hybrid exhaust/charge pipe could have some sort of insulation between the two walls such as fiberglass or something. Technically, you could run a tiny intercooler just off of the turbo which would be tucked in as well, behind the driver.
Looking under the hood would reveal nothing, same goes for looking under the car sans-lift.
Of course there would have to be a hell of a muffler to tone-out any whirly noises.
In the cockpit there would be a)a remote MBC b)a cable system for manually cracking open the wastegate to run on no boost but without overspinning the turbo too much.
Getting the first two wins would have to be done on super low boost and for the 3rd race, crank up the boost and open the electric cutout.
That'd be sweet.

Easier solution. Bring a big *** nitrous bottle on a built car, but have the bottle empty. Run at relatively low boost for the first run. The first demand is ALWAYS "remove your nitrous". They should just rename the first negotiation the "remove your nitrous" round, because that's all it EVER is. This time turn the boost down to next to nothing. After all, you're going to go slower this time because your nitrous is disconnected, right?
Final race: Turn up the boost to high. Win car.

Many a race has been won with Dial-A-Boost... They don't catch on to the simple twist of a ****. A real sleeper would look like this:
Miata with a 2.3 FE motor and RX-7 Tranny with a T-II rear end.
Methanol fuel system
No intercooler
Big SC-61 Turbo with a fake NOS system.
Some nice *** 9" slicks under cleverly flared fenders.
That's how to do it.

the guy on this week with the red truck is doing my 3" exhuast, and the same guy painted my car..."greg green." He has the most beautiful mullet you'll ever see.
his 605" 3 stage squeezed 10.5 car runs low 8's. He can drive it to and from the events too. It started its life as a rust bucket.
and his pro mod runs 6.0's

I would mount a v-8 transverse in the back and leave the stock 1.6 up front but disconnected. Just sandbag the v-8 until the last race. That would **** someone off for sure.
I'm pretty sure you can get away with anything under the hood of a Miata on that show. Most people that don't know about them think they are front wheel drive anyway. As long as nothing glaringly stands out (the 5.0 intake for example) they would just assume it's stock.

I saw a guy in a early 90's accord running around with a 3.5l truck engine cover sitting on top of the motor, telling everyone it was an "easy swap." lol

would need to be used in a nonintercooled setup ... would be a great way to cheaply upgrade a greddy kit or even a JRSC setup. So simple and it would even ramp up injection with increased boost. Now there is a GRM challenge car idea right there.
