But im open to options lol.

Then a simple refresher wouldn't hurt IMO, however of course inspect current unit as is so you're not blowing money before you actually need it refreshed

After my own endeavors , I like oem spec allthethings.

If it's showing no signs of wear/failure, why mess with it?

I am under the impression, but its from Subaru forums so... that because the gay little vf40 is run just about full tilt in this configuration, they wear quick. I just don't want to find out that it needs a rebuild after the blades hit the housing.

It sounds like I don't need to do **** except drive.

they failed cause the filters on the feed lines would clog and take the turbo out
if it aint broke........

and if it does break later, you dont want it anyway, get a td04 from an 08 or vf52 from 09+ wrx's

IIRC ihi still hasn't released any of the oem spec parts for these turbos, so any that are "rebuilt" are done so with aftermarket parts. I dont like that. I don't like rebuilt ihi's. they never last as long from what I seen.

Should I preemptively rebuild my turbo? 107k on stock vf40(i think) running cobb stg 2 its whole life, which is just under @18psi iirc. Its an 05.

I bet I could do it in an afternoon.
My '05 OBXT now has 202k on the stock turbo, 104k on my own 'stage 2' map, <18psi. My brother's '05 LGT has been running the same map for a few years now too, he's over 200k on his car. No issues with either turbo. I removed my banjo filter when I bought the car at 98k miles, my brother removed his when he got it at ~150k.

I just drove a 2015 Mustang GT in the rain. Somehow I managed to survive and didn't kill any crowds of people

Rain in California and you drove a mustang without killing anyone.

Nice dream.

Anyone have brake pad recommendations for my STI? I'm almost down to metal lol.

The stock pads have shitty bite IMO, and don't really think I'm gonna run XP8's on a mostly street driven car.

Friend of mine tried a few different pads, all had WORSE bite than stock.

Be careful (I've not much experience with pads so no help there)

What behavior from the stock pads are you trying to correct?

If you can't name one, just buy stock or equivalent.

Derp. I somehow glazed right over that.

If you don't want the XP8, maybe try the 1521 or AX6.

Subaru finally sent me a letter saying they have airbags in stock! Yaaaaaay! Time to make an appointment with the dealer.

I wonder who I have to bribe in order to take the dash claymore home with me?
