The Dedicated URABUS Thread
I get a spark when I tap my wire to the battery, but no movement regardless of polarity of wires. The spool/plunger gizmo moves freely by hand. P0021.
I haven't removed the passenger side yet to see if that one moves but I'm sure it does.
So a trip to Fred Beans may be in order this weekend. I'll call the local Subaru dealer and check costs.

they are known to fail after about 80k
and everything on 05-06 LGT/OBXT seems to have the highest failure rates of pretty much all EJ255's
and there's a chance it can toast the head if it fails in the closed position

I have 188k.
My brother has an 05 LGT, basically the same car. So I stole his keys and yanked his driver's side valve to see how it worked. yeah, mine's busted. He has close to 217k on his.
You have me worried about it toasting the head...not sure how that's possible. The inner spool moves freely; i'm not sure what the oil flow path is but when blowing on some of the ports the valve moves itself to the open position.

Mine is an auto. Trans is good for DD in that it's a 5 speed auto. It's slow out of the hole as 1st is tall and the turbo doesn't spool off-idle. But you can brake boost it and it will launch if you really want to. It will absolutely shift and stay in boost if you want, mine I can shift at 2,500 and it will stay in boost.

So the Amsoil MTG in my MT5 is "meh" especially when trying to downshift into first or second at speed. I'd like to give something else a try and I know
said he liked BG Syncroshift II, anyone have another recommendation? Subaru Extra-S is also an option, I've also seen Motul 300 tossed around as well. Actual experience would be nice

I heard people rave about "uncle scotty's cocktail" which is a mix of motul and redline or something. I've always used oem and extra s stuff
tried RP and it sucked
also tried mobil and it was mediocre at best

I read about the cocktail, tons of conflicting versions and even discontinued products listed as proper ingredients. I'm not sure that's a game I want to play. Also, it looks like trying to buy Extra-S in quarts is some sort of crazy internet conspiracy ****. God I hate Subaru forums.
Motul 300 is the only thing that seems to have minimal complaints, other than "its expensive." Subaru people seem to love to complain about such things, and then they pay $1200 for a medocre FMIC kit you can DIY for $250 and then complain about boost response
Did I mention I hate Subaru forums?

I have been running mobil (not mobil 1) delvac synthetic gear oil 75-90 in my bugeye for about 14k. It was a little stiff when it got stupid cold. Had to buy from a porsche online vendor.
My car came with motul in it. Local Subaru people thought my car was black magic when I could just throw it into first with ease. Current have redline lightweight shockproof in it now because I had to change the center diff bearings and I couldnt get motul fast enough. No real difference, a touch notchier maybe.
I got a letter in the mail today from Subaru saying they are extending the warranty a year to cover any failed clutch pedal brackets...
doesnt help me since my car is a 2009 and 4yr/48,000 is LONG past in both mileage and years.
What a joke. It should be a recall.

I cant get over how terrible subaru forums are. Full of the kind of people who refer to their car as "my baby" and it makes me cringe. Outside of classifieds this is the only Subaru thing on the Internet that I participate or even look at.

I agree martinez. right after I joined lgt.com, I saw the hogzaust mod in the stickies, and have never returned.

Engine: Motul 8100
Transmission: Motul 300
Diff: Motul 300 LS
Filled with flat billed, children that don't know anything about cars or actually driving them on track. It's surprisingly pathetic.
