Drinking like a King. Don't hate.
Only the classy ones.
this is a solid, cheap idea to look classy and save money for boooze and car parts
oh, now the decanters are too expensive?
Touche'. It's more of an issue of space. I prefer to fill my bar's upper glass-fronted cabinets with cool-looking bottles and nice glassware. The lower cabinets are reserved for the booze.
That, and I may only have a particular booze once. I won't feel bad throwing out a $2.50 - $5.00 paper or leather tag but it would be pretty wasteful to have to pitch a $30+ etched decanter.

re: the etching....maybe you could like strikethrough the old one when you re-etch for a new one? they you'll have like a history of what you've drank nice and handy. Just an idea.
If you were a Master Machinist, you'd have 2-3 black full-sized Snap-on tool chests, and know exactly what was in each drawer. Of course the booze will make this more difficult in a liquor cabinet, but you'd be pretty zen if you did it....no etching cost either.
Aunt gave me a partial bottle of Grand Mariner last night. Mixed with pineapple soda, it makes a surprisingly tasty drink. Just the thing for a cold, dreary December afternoon.
