Default Engine bay paint finish.. Opinions wanted!

I'm repainting my car black this up coming summer, but I wanted to paint the engine bay and all of the "inside" stuff now while the car is down for the winter. I was going to do the engine bay gloss black, but now im toying with the idea of flat black. Part of me thinks it will make the engine bay look more subtle and clean since its pretty empty now, the other part thinks its going to look like riceroni. I have seen a few flat black engine bays that look good, but I don't have any pictures of them to refresh my memory.

I just want to hear what others think about it.. What do you guys think? Flat black or gloss black engine bay? (Exterior will be gloss regardless)

The gloss would be easier to clean and wouldn't look bad. I would rather have it match the exterior than anything though.

Gloss. It will be impossible to keep the flat black clean for long.

Are you spray bombing it? What are you using? I am going to be doing mine at some point.

I am rattle canning the primer and paint, then my friend is going to clear it with a gun. The paint finish looks fine by itself, but it scuffs easily so I want to throw a few coats of clear on to protect from tools being dropped and what not. I just picked up a case of gloss black paint from walmart, .99c ea x 24. Its actually not that bad..

Pretty sure I am going to go with the gloss after all

Just finished painting. Turned out better than I had expected for a $100 DIY paint job

Krylon rattle can primer, .99c walmart rattle can gloss black paint (Color Place?), Omni clear coat sprayed on.

Glad I went with gloss..
