No comments on the video? Poor form. I drove both of those cars and let me tell you, the one you are all commenting on is way less interesting as it stands :-p
As I may or may not have said in the video "That's ******* insane!" very quick little car.
Gotta stand by rob with the bp vs fe thing too... 8psi on the fe well faster than 13 on the bp :-) Is there a thread where I can troll with that statement?
Fred.

Once I swap in the built motor i'd probably be at all the Vmeets. I need to get on mx5Atlanta more often to see whats scheduled because I bet im missing more of the good ones.

Got everything out of the car except the dash. Looks like I'm only losing one interior LE piece to the damage- the driver side seatbelt tower plastic cover. New car has a roll bar so I'll probably just paint and use the ones in it. Even managed to get the cloth top out without destroying it after some serious hammer and pry work.
Body, top, rain rail and the top anchor were all pinched down together. Good bit of hammering pushed the body down enough to snap off the studs and slide out the top anchor piece without damaging the top. But it will need a new window piece.

Couple of shots showing the compression. Took my jack handle to get the door open. Note the rocker right in front the rear tire- it's crushed from bottoming out on the garage slab.

I know someone mentioned you should put the early pics of the car under a tree in the "Slammed" thread over at CR.net, but the fact that the Fender touched the ground just reminded me of that. Wow.
Nonetheless, still very impressed by the FE-Dohc motor, and the abilities of a swapped Miata with it. I guess for some reason I felt like sticking with the MSM motor and building it vice swapping, but If I wasn't stuck on keeping the original motor in my car, I'd do an FE-3.
So, is that carpet on the tunnel faded, or is it the angle of the camera or the light?
Either way, good luck with the tear down and swap, it sure will be good to have one of these uncommon FE'd miatas running around.

City gave the ok to the garage plans last week. So now I just need my contractor to start moving on the permit and build it. We're also doing some site work around the area so that'll add to the project time (and cost).
I've got a list of things I'd like to, and have to do during the swap over:
I've got a list of things I'd like to, and have to do during the swap over:
- reseal the engine pan
- remove a shim in the oil pump
- paint the engine bay of new car
- new same size delta fin intercooler
- mods needed to get the Mercedes oil cooler installed
- Wiring mods for LINK ecu
stopped by to visit!! progress has been started... hopefully the contractor actually follows through in reasonable time. i would like to see it complete this fall when i move down south
