Fellas, I got a $350 (fees and ticket) fine for PARKING on the side of the interstate during a storm and almost lost my license over it. Short version - Pulled over to the side of the road behind 5 other cars in one of the worst rain storms I have ever seen (including a few hurricanes I have been through). I fell asleep waiting on the rain to stop and when it did everyone else pulled away but me. When I didn't pay the ticket (wrote to the judge and he was not hearing any of it) they pulled my driving privileges in VA and then called SC. SC told me I would lose my license if I didn't pay the ticket and all associated late fees, additional fines, or whatever they were. If they want your money, they will get it...

It is illegal to do burnouts, donuts and related BS in private parking lots in Georgia. That's a state law. I've read the book and seen the law in print. It is also illegal to put on tires of a different size than original, to modify the ride height, or to have tires/wheels extend out past the fender in Georgia. I've read it myself. My buddy was a cop and I got to spend some time with the state statute book.

I've never checked on the statutes regarding this in Florida. It is illegal to have an exhaust any louder than stock in Florida. I heard a judge read the statute to a Honda riceboy in court once upon a time. I was in for speeding again.

Ouch. At least a DC w/motor vehicle doesn't get you any points! I've gotten two of them -- one for the spinning and another for racing. Very lucky on the racing one.

I got out of several tickets years ago because of street racing. Driving a Peugot 504 deisel the first time. The turn signal stalk is on the right side of the steering column. The headlights are controled by moving the left side stalk up and down. I want to turn left ahead, I move the left stalk and turn the brights on. Turns out no left turn is allowed at that intersection. I signal right, which turns the lights off. I turn right at the next street to come back around the block - the old 3 rights make a left move. Cop pulls me over. I can't find proof of insurance. Driving without the lights on. Didn't signal the turn. Left my damn wallet at home. Cop swears he heard tire squeal when I turned - complete BS. He's writing up every infraction. Separate tickets for each one. He walks back to my car to have me sign them.

He gets the call. Street racing 1 mile away, both cars went off road. He tells me it's my lucky day runs back to the car and speeds off. Telephone pole involved at least one dead. This was around 1982.

Street racing isn't new, it goes back to the very beginning of the automobile. What's changed are how fast the cars are and how big a nanny the Gov't has become.

The burnout, donuts, and all that sucks but I have had it happen personally. I looked at the cop all stupid at first cause I was on private lot. He then informed me that there was 6 different motoring vehicle tickets that can be giving even in a private parking lot. It been 5 years since then so I totally don't remember what all of them are but reckless driving is one of them, got that one twice.

Never heard of the modify ride height or tires. I do know there is a law about the minimal height of headlights. Back when mini trucks were really common one local city would pull over any mini truck and check for anything they could find that wasn't up to the codes.
