there aren't any CELs by doing this btw, people have been doing it on the MS3 forums and report no problems really.

Does Mazda make Mazdaspeed accessories for the MS6 like they do for the MS3? I know for the MS3 they make an intake and cat back exhaust system that usually dynos for an extra 25-30hp and about 40+lb-ft.

I think you meant to say fwhp as the ms3 is not awd. I'm sure you knew that and just mis-typed.

also, you say this was one of the fastest MS6s around, what all was done to it? Can't really pick up any info from that post.

D'OH!!! Yup, misstyped.

As for the motor that blew up, 4DRHTRD had just about everything the aftermarket offers. Full intake, bigger turbo, full 3"exhaust, big TMIC, exede, clutch, tire/wheels, and a few other things. It's not that he'd done a huge amount to the car, it's just that he's the only one so far TO do it all. Since the motor is brand new, and it's the first of it's kind from Mazda, there's no aftermarket base. Everything is damn expensive. He saw some kind of boost spike I think... near 30psi. That'll do it.

Mazdaspeed does sell a few things. BUT THEY ARE VERY CLEAR AT THE DEALERSHIPS THAT IT DOES VOID YOUR WARRANTY! And of course they aren't as good as the CPE or StreetUnit stuff and are more expensive.

I'm trying to keep my Miata/MS6 mod budgets seperate. I'm dead-set on buying a LM-1/AuxBox that will serve me for many cars. I'm happy with the Miata now, just need some tuning for peace of mind. Next step is 1.8 brakes and Torsen. The MS6 gets a test-pipe for the second cat ($120) and a Fujita intake ($200). That should get me another 20awhp and make me happy for awhile.
