As was explained to me one time, one type of rally type antilag, which seem to be what's used on the EVO8 in that video by the constant stream of flame on decel, either kick open the throttle slightly (or open IAC max) or have a means of taking bypass air (from BOV like gizmo) and putting it directly into exhaust mani, going pig rich, and lotza ignition retard to fire rich mixture on exhaust stroke to keep turbo spinning. The trick expensive complicated way of forcing fresh air into the exhaust mani on throttle decel sorta turns the system into a DIY/garage mini-jet engine to keep the turbo spooled. Slick. The less complicated and more common way is to kick open the throttle slightly and retarding timing (basically turning it into standard regular ol' antilag we use) but you'd get less engine braking I'd think. Don't confuse this with just turning off decel fuel cut to get a pop-pop and some flames on decel...that's not antilag.

Brain, whatever. Sponsorship and donation are two different things. Be damned if I'm going to buy someones overpriced parts, then pay them extra for racing. If I needed to get my company name on the car for advertising purposes, yeah I'd pay.

I think this outlines it very clearly:

Pledge your support here!
Fan (up to $50)
Team member ($50 or more) - get a limited production team member T-shirt that identifies you as one of the coolest Miata people around.
Patron ($500 or more) - limited production T-shirt only for patrons as well as your name on the cars.
Sponsor ($1500 or more) - get your name/business prominently displayed on the car and in all media communications.

They aren't forcing you to do it. This has been going on for some time, and yet life still goes on and they will continue to produce and sell very good miata parts that you will buy.

The majority of donations out there appear to be from chappes who values their name on a tee shirt, as well as the idea of helping get FM overseas, over the $50 they sent along.

At least they are upfront with what they are doing. If our members knew what I spent site donations on...they'd stop. But I will say, ferraris aren't cheap.

Yeah I remember the discussion on antilag we had awhile back with the 'run pig rich through the cylinders vs directly injecting fuel into the turbine', it was interesting. I know that my decel cut isn't anything by any means, it only makes transitioning from closed to open throttle much smoother since it isn't the OEM ECU that had tens of thousands of hours put into each area of operation. I occasionally get a pop of fir when I've been running it hard, but not that constant flame followed by the spit out when the throttle is cracked.

**** it, I'll just do a rotary conversion, that'll take car of any wanting for flames from the exhast

I don't care what you spend it on, as long as I get no ads, extra PMzz, and an av.

That would be great, as long as they are covering them in doup.
