If you want to go with a protege why not go with a civic? More power from the getgo, more of a market, cheaper prices... the only negative is the bad vibe started by the ricers.

Hmm I fail to see the point to it but any car can be stolen?
|
Yes any car can be stolen but around here the last report I saw was that 40% of the cars stolen in this area are civics and they just strip them for parts and abandon the bare chassis on the side of the road. And its not like they're stealing them for doing Si engine swaps or something, they steal any civic they think they can get away with because even dx parts are worth a crap load.
|
how about this: MY Civic was stolen once.
of course here we are discussing camrys and accords like they aint no thang... |
This is the most depressing thread I have ever read on this forum.

88-92 626 GT.
Do it. $1800 should get you a nice one with a good $300-$500 left over. With that $300 to $500 you can replace the entire brake system, freshen the front suspension, and have enough left over to make a good 230whp/300wtq. |

got sleeper?
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1361298108 IIRC after we got the passenger seat out I think I saved off around 250lbs. |
How much weight do you save by unbolting the back seat and then just leaving it loose back there?
|
At least a pound, for the bolts.

That 626 is this, but in sheep's clothing.
The motor is excessively strong, they're easy to make power on, and with mild suspension work (all the parts still available) they handle quite well. Oh, and the brakes are AWESOME. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1361298561 |
There's probably 17 of those 626 GT's that still exist in the United States.
|
Or if you want DAT KL so you can be baller like TurboTim (and me), then you want the next gen 626. You can get it with the awesome 2.5 V6 and a 5spd pretty easily, and they're cheap.
You want your daily to sound like sex? |

There was a low-mile, rust-free one in ATL on CL forever. The seller went through the entire car and did all the maintenance- still couldn't sell it. I think the price was down to $2500. Unfortunately it was not the coveted burgundy interior, but the lesser electric blue. Easy swap to the better FE3 engine too! ;)
I think he's referring to the 626 GT, not the Mx. |
