When 3% of Americans pay 35% of wages to fund 90% of government, that's not cool. Especially when it benefits them 0%.

level the playing field; 1% flat tax.

When the Gov't controls < 1% of these banks they are investing in, they'll want/demand/force a managerial role in the bank. Do these top 3% of Americans get a say in how the government spends their money let alone a seat at Obama's cabinet?

flat tax can't work unless cost of living is a fixed percentage as well--it's not.

lower income families spend a significantly higher percentage of their salary on food and shelter than high income families. it's effectively a REGRESSIVE tax--it penalizes you more as you make less.

we all saw the friends episode where joey and rachel and phoebe were up in arms because they couldn't afford the restaurants that everyone else wanted to go to.

Your lack use of capital letters on your most recent post (including proper names) confuses me. Very un-Matt-like.

Yeah, but a flat tax "levels the playing field." I heard that one come up A LOT a few months back. You want "fair" and "level," well, everyone pays the same.

my capitalization habits are pretty lacksadaisacal. i rarely capitlalize the first letter of a sentence and usually only capitalize "I" if it's in the middle of a sentence. who knew.

ok but then you have to make basic necessities a percentage of income too. example: bill gates healthcare copay is 10,000 dollars and mine is 10 dollars.

In any case, Obama didn't claim to eliminate taxes, just reduce them for 95% of people.

I meant your local ballot (US senate, representative, state govt, county, city) more than the presidential ballot.

And there's always write-ins.
Must've tried to read too much into your question. In short, Yes. Will it help? Not real likely.

At least Obama did one good thing for my state.. Got Kathleen Sebelius the hell outa here!

Namely, Mr. Rooney never wrote that. But whoever did was just a reactionary *******. Its very easy to say things like "I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers" with zero evidence to break it up. Saying "victim of anything except numbers" is odd, numbers meaning that black people are still discriminated against or what? Because there is plenty of quantitative evidence for that one.

"I have the right 'NOT' to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off. " I hope everyone can admit thats not a good thing. If not, I suspect you're hopeless.

There are some other pieces of idiodic gold in there, but I've been writing a paper all day.

p.s. Stop being reactionaries you *****. Start coming up with new workable ideas backed up by real evidence.

p.p.s. Sorry Brain, Flat tax is no bueno (fairtax.org's math is all wrong, their wording is vague and misleading, and heavily regressive)

Hey, this thread is great. Easy to find usernames of racists and ultra-conservative bigots to add to my ignore list so I don't accidentally read any of their mindless **** in the future.

Evidence?
What's vague, misleading, and regressive?

Don't let a few facts get in the way of a good theory, gentlemen.
