Greddy != "tons" of power. Unless we have a vastly different idea of "tons".

15-18psi should make 250-275rwhp, no exhaust, and a cheap *** diy intercooler, no weight, i dont see the problem.

even so, a cheap *** obx manifold, ebay t3 or t3/t4, open DP FTW.

Extensively lightened part such as a block with improved crank ventilation, ported oil pan, shorter con rod, etc. There weren't many usable items left on Phil's old engine.

Too advanced timing results in knock which results in burned pistond, broken rings, lands, etc.

That damage is from a failed rod bolt, which always happens at TDC, where inertial forces are highest on the rod. As the crank pin comes around again, it cuts the rod in half (as you can clearly see) up against the block, windowing it. This is the most common rod failure.

That was me...and unfortunely, the PO had done some things...that I was not aware of.
Anyhow...the motor has been rebuilt (by Kevin aka KCBHIW) and it's now residing in Turkey. Drove her for the first time since Jan 2 days ago (waiting on my plates now).
Turkish Tech Inspections made me change my exhaust (had to bargain my way into getting a Peugot muffler)...it was so tiny that the car wasn't behaving right after I installed it (I attribute this to back pressure). I had it hacked off the next day...heh heh.
Things I've noticed:
I NEED new tires....badly.
I NEED to bleed my brakes.
I NEED speakers
