I mean, its a heavy duty aluminum tube used in close proximity to workspace. I would question your abilities as a mechanic, hell, as a man, if it had NOT occurred to you that it could be used as a cheater.

I asked for the steel ultra low profile 2T jack for Christmas, we'll see how that goes.

It goes down to 2 5/8" so it should be MUCH easier to get under the Miata while working out of the garage.

I have this. Got a few years on it, works very well. Low-profile is lowww, and even better it lifts the wheels off the ground in 4-5 full pumps (giggity). Can't complain. Except, it is a soooon of a bitch to lift should you decide to take it anywhere, its a dense piece of steel to say the least.

Downside: Pole diameter is not big enough to fit over anything except a 3/8" drive.

Yeah, its not going much of anywhere beyond the driveway. I've got the blue and silver 1.5T "Racing" jack that comes to the track with me, along with a small 4" section of 2x4 that I can drive up on to make juuuust that much more room for that jack.

Have had mine for 3 years. Best jack I have ever used. Very, very low. Not quite long enough to reach the front subframe cross meber without hitting the bumper with the back of it though. Lifts our minivan just as happily as the Miata.

The sumabitch is heavy to move around though. 2T is not the rating, but the weight.

Also not long enough for my Fit, but they put the jack point in a stupid place.

dewilts are ok, it you already have the batteries go for it, if you didnt I'd say get the makita.

But if you're starting from scratch, you might want to go Milwaukee so you can get the herculean M18 Fuel 1/2" High Torque impact. Rated at 1100ft/lbs reversing; all ratings are somewhat inflated, but it blows crank bolts off like they're 4-40 machine screws.

But then you have a china built to a price millfuckye instead of japanese goodness.

My friend has one of these. It is an amazing tool abd well built. We have yet to find a nut or bolt that it even struggles with. Blew subframe bolts right off a rust car without even trying. Lug nuts are cake, crank bolt was as well.

I bought the M12 3/8" one for myself since I have a big IR pnumatic for the big things. Even the little M12 does lug nuts no problem.
