Heath Ledger

Like I said, I dont care about the 'rich & famous' and their problems...most of which are self wrought BTW.
The public fascination with it I find stupid...much like ancient pagans bowing before carved wooden idols, or men bowing before other mortals for salvation or in reverance.
I have no real feelings about this person specifically. I neither like or dislike him. As I indicated, in time the truth about his death will probably come out....hopefully.

A major presumption on your part...and an incorrect one.

It is also strange that you don't care about the rich and famous but still have come to a conclusion regarding a root causation for their problems. For someone I don't care about i probably couldn't tell you anything about them, except for maybe their name. But hey thats just me

We cheer when the rich and famous fall because it makes us feel better about our own lives. This proves that THEY don't have it all, unlike you and I who have a full life with out all the money and fame. We want to assume the worst because it makes us feel good and secure about our own situation. Most people couldn't give a **** about a junkie OD, or a homeless guy freezing to death. Because in our mind we are all ready better than them and don't need the proof that they pissed away their life. We find it so offensive that celebrities waste their life, when really their life is no more meaningful than the crack ***** down the road. And it's obvious that most don't give a **** about one of THOSE people, because they have nothing we want. While a celebrity does, and **** him for wasting it when we would have done a much better job living his life to the fullest.
Blah, another one bites the dust what are you going to do?

I didnt make an presumption, i asked you a question. I find it strange that you don't care about him but are hopeful for that his cause of death will be released.
It is also strange that you don't care about the rich and famous but still have come to a conclusion regarding a root causation for their problems. For someone I don't care about i probably couldn't tell you anything about them, except for maybe their name. But hey thats just me

To me I know about movies, I watch them. I own The Patriot.
I know names and faces of famous...I hear/see more about them then I care to...I just dont care about their plight or problems...or personal lives for that matter. I own many movies, and like some actors in terms of how they work on screen. It pretty much ends there.
Actually you did make a presumption...you said I 'seemed angry'.
I am not angry. But, I am disgusted by the public idolization of the rich & famous and their lives...which is a seperate yet related subject to Heath Ledger. This fascination/idolization tends to focus significantly on those who are self destructing in spite of the advantages they have.
And you are still making presumptions. You have no idea if I have come to a "conclusion regarding a root causation" for the problems of the rich or what that might be.
I simply said I dont care about their problems...and used colorful language to express that. I dont find them to be any more valuable then a local yoyo. In fact, in some sense theyre of less importance and value. Some local yoyo might put out a fire at my house or resuscitate me at an accident scene or interact with me personally in business or otherwise etc etc etc
I also said the majority of 'their' (they being the rich/famous hollywood types) problems are self wrought. Thats only a statement of obvious fact. If you cant see that youre not looking...or are blind.
At this time it appears/looks that Ledger offed himself....one way or another. If thats not the case I would hope only from a human standpoint that that would become known....for the sake of his family. I bear them no ill will.
I dont know what killed him.
I wasnt there. I know how it looks. And honestly it does look familiar.
Maybe he was murdered. Again IF thats the case its a crime like any other, nothing special to me because of who he is, and should be treated as such.
But, lets be honest...the overwhleming majority of the time when a rich/famous person is found like he was it ends up being self inflicted one way or another, directly or indirectly. Some fans then whine about how the subject couldnt 'take the pressure' or was 'sick with an addiction'...yada yada yada...and THAT I dont care about. Here's an idea...if your ultra rich life in Hollywood & movies is so tough that you need antidepressants, sleeping pills, booze and all other manner of intoxicants to function....GET ANOTHER OCCUPATION, live somewhere else, give your riches away and work on a loading dock somewhere or whatever you need to do. Dont expect me to have major sympathy for you if you stay in the fire and get burned.
On this one I guess time will tell.

number one i think the word on the street is complications of pills and being physically ill otherwise. Number two I'm going to make it a point to say to anyone who starts a thread here about a dead family member, "**** 'em, who cares..." Some of you guys are real ******* low lifes. It's one thing not to care (that's understandable) it's another to say good riddance, whatever the cause of their death. Is that how ******* sad your own life is?
#47
Sorry, Heath was not a real person. If someone ever said that about a real person I would be as upset as it looks like you are. I think you are missing the point that HEATH was the real ******* low life. I know you think he was cute and could memorize some lines after he read them back to a camera after 20 takes but I wouldn't trade 50 of him for 1 of you guys. Anyway, your reaction made me laugh... (leave Brittany alone!)

I knew it was only a matter of time until someone attaked me with some kind of gay reference. Bravo....For future reference I haven't seen brokeback and I actually never liked him as an actor. But, I still don't see what makes him a lowlife? I guess we should only have sympathy for those directly related to us...or in your case those who share a similar hobby. And if they were ever involved with anything remotely linked to homosexuality we have to make fun of them....I think I understand now. Sounds like something a very insecure person would do. Did the priest touch you in your naughty place? Like I said, that's a shallow ******* life you have.
Btw: How can someone who is not real be a lowlife?

It was never intended to be a gay reference. He IS cute and that is why some people hold him up on a pedestal. I'm going to stop replying now because you are taking everything the wrong way and getting upset for no reason. Lighten up dude, no reason for personal attacks on here:

IF a person walks into a retaurant and starts yelling at strangers loudly, and i turn to my friend Mr. Joe Perez, and say "That man seems angry". The person (who appears angry) hears this and "I am not angry". Am I wrong for saying he seems angry? No. cause he appears angry. Maybe he has a hormone disorder that makes everything he commuinicates a yell.
Maybe you have a disorder where everything you type makes you seem angry. Who knows that is a discussion for philosophers
#52
That sounds like a personal attack to me. Unless of course he's not a real person....
You're making an assumption about why I'm posting in this thread, a wrong one. It's purely about decency. It just sounds like anyone you don't know personally doesn't exist to you or doesn't deserve sympathy on a purely human level. Maybe you mean only the successful, or celebrities, or "cute" people don't matter to you. Whatever your distinction may be it doesn't regard him as a person. I'm sure if it were a soldier we were talking about, many more people would be defending exactly what I am trying to. I understand that a celebrity as an image is something not really real, but regardless they are people, they were children, they have families, even "the lowlifes". I'm sorry for not being light about this, but it just seems like an uneducated cheap shot at dead guy that's left a child and family behind.

- A guy gets drunk, wrecks his car and dies - **** 'em.
- A guy snorts coke, ODs and dies - **** 'em.
- A soldier volunteers to go into service and dies - a hero.
- A cute celebrity who has a stroke and leaves behind a family - tragedy.
To equate someone in the top two categories with someone in the bottom two is just wrong. "HE" left his child and family behind. "HE" did it and is a low life because of it. "HE" doesn't deserve any respect. "HE" is the one who is uneducated and indecent. "I" am only pointing this out.
"I" am now late for work. Got to go pay my taxes for all the kiddies that the drug addicts left behind...

you guys keep talking about him snorting coke, but last time i checked no drugs were ever found on the rolled up 20. And if he was going to commit suicide then why set up an appointment with a masseuse? To help fight off the effects of rigor mortis so its easier to put him in that coffin?
