Do they have a used bookstore near your college? There were two of them around the UF campus, typically half the price of new, and at the end of the semester they'd buy them back for maybe 15-25% of what you paid.

Best part about stores buying books back is if you bought them cheap online, they usually buy them back for more than what you paid online.

You guys are foolish not to buy your books online. I am taking Materials Science and Engineering and every book is $150 at the book store. I spend about $150 every semester for all my books online.

Quit getting screwed by your school and local bookstore, buy online and save yourself some serious cash.

As someone else said international versions generally are the exact same book with a different cover and can be found for super cheap.

Moral of the story, buy your books used (or new) online and spend ~1/4 what you would at the university book store.

Guhh, why does this thread have to get started AFTER everyone has bought their books?

I found that once I was taking only classes for my major and minor, I had multiple classes with the same people. You buy the book for this class, I buy the one for that class. Sucked sometimes during mid-terms and finals, but if you are someone who gets down on group studying, it works out pretty good.
