I just don't understand why they would trust the planks. My car cost $5k and I wouldn't dare put it on that setup.
I still laugh at the end because everyone goes silent. No one wants to be the one to tell him. It sure sucks though, I hate seeing nice cars like that damaged.

The car is supposed to have basicially an on/off switch for a clutch. no suprise this happened at all.
The ramps on the trailer I've used to tow my Miata are too steep. I used 4' 2X8 planks to ease the transition onto the trailer. BUT if the planks broke the car would only drop a couple of inches. Oh ya, and it isn't a $500K car

Allegedly, that picture shows the delivery of the Veyron from the port of entry to its new owner.
And it's really not such a bad-looking way to transport the vehicle. There appears to be a crane arm at the front of the bed which was coupled to that gantry with four straps coming down from it. My guess is they either affixed those to hardpoints on the chassis or simply slung them under the vehicle, and then used the crane arm to lift the car straight up and swing it into the bed.

i love the lack of knowledge in this thread. LOL. that IS how you load a low car onto a flatbed wrecker, but, you dont drive it up, you pull it up with the winch. and i have been around towing my whole life. but this just came out last year, which helps a lot.

The people loading the car are the only ones with a lack of knowledge. That ghetto setup had bad news written all over it.
The only way I would transport a $500k car. The exotic dealer down the street from my shop has a single bed version they use to tow broken down cars.

I wouldn't say a lot, but they drop cars off and pick them up at my shop all the time. I have watched them use planks before, but as you said, they tow them up not drive them.
Still, its $500,000. Thats 3 times the cost of my house, why in the hell would you even try it?

its really only as bad as you make it. i have been helping repo for like 6 years with my dad and havent had a bad run-in with anyone yet. but the other guys that work with us have got into trouble a few times. just have to trust your instinct, and a mag full of hollow points helps just in case
