Luckily I bought GTA 4 so I do not have cabin fever yet...and my GF has the Wii in the other room. Dallas was crushed by ice.

My boss lives somewhere out in Texas and he sent out an email today saying he was iced in and power was intermittent.

I'm kind of cold in the shop right now, but it's always chilly this close to the coast. 54 degrees, probably a bit warmer in the shop.

It was 67 on Monday morning when I left my house to go to my shop. When I got there it was 41 and it is only 10 minutes away. We have had a few "strategic" blackouts as they are calling them. They supposedly have a plan to turn off certain areas for X amount of time to help with this supposed power issue we are having.

I've been stuck at home since Tuesday and I expect the ice to go away on Saturday. I left earlier to hit the grocery store and my 1000' trip consisted of strategic momentum for a couple hills/driveways, one dude narrowly missing me, and a graveyard of stuck cars on the side of the road...and this is day #2.

Luckily I picked-up GTA4 and it's ******* great.

Lake shore drive is officially closed, abandoned cars everywhere, downtown is still unplowed, snow drifts up to 10 feet, power was out for 200,000 people, 30,000 are still out of power, winds up to 70mph, Chicago school system closed first time in 12 years, most businesses closed, 6000 o'hare flights cancelled and counting, 7 people died, 3 buildings collapsed, aliens have invaded. Oh, and I ran out of milk.

The gf and I have been home together for the past 2 days. This ******* weather is insane. Between the snow, the ice, and now this sleet/rain **** thats going on....I've been shoveling driveways and cleaning off roofs day after day.

Monday I had to change my dad's oil in our shop, which unfortunately doesn't have any heat in it. Laying on the dirty shop floor when its 30 degrees out is just old to me now.

More than halfway through the winter now, almost there! lol

You do realize that Long Beach is both north of Atlanta and west of Austin, do you not?

You do realize that Long Beach is in California, do you not? I hate California. There's a reason why I can't live west of Texas. Even Nevada is too close to California Hell for me.

Time like this make it difficult for me to maintain somewhat professional decorum as the premier moderator of this forum and not edit your post accordingly.
