the only thing you need to do to your leather boots is:
lexol ph balanced cleaner lexol conditioner or bick4 conditioner. The latter will not darken the leather. All other oils can go home. |

ugh, amazon prime why you no have bick4

Are Redwings still worth a damn? Are they still a paragon of american made quality? I need a new pair of work boots that actually have ankle support.

Construction friend swears by redwings. He won't buy anything else. He tried danners and they lasted like a month. He goes through a set of redwings a year.

We have a oldschool local footware place that carries them, I may swing by after work and take a peak. I've purchased other stuff from them in the past but never owned Redwings. |

I know he likes them because he does a shit ton of climbing, and the sole isn't rock hard.

Might depend on what you want.

How (and why) to Ramble On your domestic shorthair
Redwings are the only shoes that I can wear. I stand on concrete floors all day, with any other shoe my feet would ache something fierce at the end of the day. I get about 3 to 4 years out of a pair, I highly recommend.

This is exactly what I need to hear, thank you mucho! What numeric series should I be looking at? You seem to be doing exactly what I'm going to be doing for the next few months. I don't really own work boots anymore thanks to my desk job so specific advice is appreciated.
go here Work Boots and Shoes - Shoe Finder - Red Wing Shoes search by the criteria you want to narrow down the models, they have so many its hard to choose. So get an idea of what you want, and go to a redwing store and try them all on to finalize your selection, they are always more than willing to help you find what you want. im assuming youll want a 6" or 8" lace up the 432 and 435 are the 6" version of my 134s. Also, free oiling and laces for life. The laces last unbelievably long too. |

I'd been wearing Timberland Titans for the past 8 years or so. Typically got about a year out of each pair before the sole disintegrated and came apart at the front. Decided to make a change back in March. Bought a pair of Irish Setter # 878 "Trailblazers." Irish Setter is Red Wing's "made in China" line, if you haven't heard of them. Despite this, I am astounded by both the materials quality and workmanship in these boots. They aren't even in the same league as the Timberlands- vastly superior in every way imaginable, and just as comfy despite being noticeably stiffer and heavier. Men's 878 Trailblazer 7" Brown Outdoor Boot | Irish Setter https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1440806349 I've been wearing them every day for the past five months, and aside from a few small scuffs they still look brand new. The stitching looks like it'll be quite durable, very rugged sole... These are what boots are supposed to be. Unless they spontaneously fall apart in the next few months (which I can't imagine they will), my brand-loyalty has definitely switched. |
