Joe doesn't just want a participation trophy like the millennials? Hater.

Anybody have a source for stupid cheap lights. I always wanted to cover my entire house with them. Should have bought them all on sale last year.

We had that kind of coordination on the PF2 server as well, even though it was by voice chat rather than physical co-location.
I find this interesting. I didn't start playing TF2 until after it went F2P. And in the early days, I heard a lot of people decrying the death of the game as a result. So I guess I never experienced TF2 in its Golden Age, and have little to compare to. Maybe it was easier to find good servers back then, I have no idea. I do know that >99% of the servers I join randomly annoy me. Zero coordination, zero teamwork, low skill... I find that I've become what some people call a "pub stomper" and a "tryhard", in that when I join a server I actually want to play the objective, and usually rocket to the top of the scoreboard so quickly that it bores me. Frankly, the term "tryhard" puzzles me. If you're not going to try hard, why bother showing up in the first place? |

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1449022338 But no, I get it. If you land on a random pub server filled with friendlies, there's nothing you're going to do that will change their fragile little minds. You're the bully; the aggressor who is invading their safe space and trying to oppress them by wondering why they're treating a populated game server like a MUD. So long as they're surrounded by sympathetic, like minded victims-in-waiting, there's no point in even wasting the electricity (or photons, if FiOS) it takes to stay connected. I just let them be and go someplace where people are actually interested in using the server in the manner for which it was intended. Those places are just hard to find. But this NoHeroes group looks promising. I'm about to join their forum. |
I tend to agree with Joe. Most of those fucks need to go play Gary's Mod.
I think youll like no heroes. |
It turns out that I can just request a company car whenever I want one, and drive wherever I want with it. And since they all have NYP (press) license plates, I can park pretty much wherever I want.
Not that I often have an actual need for a car, but it's kind of cool to actually drive every now and then. Been a few months since I was behind the wheel. |

But i'm literally running test parts in an experimental bath that is less than 10 gallons. I don't want to put to much thought into this. If the test bath works i'll need to spend my time and energy focusing on how i'm going to do it in a 1500 gallon tank.
I'm just going to build a stainless cooling loop with a valve and hook the garden hose to it. Winter time water is like 45F here. It's a test that will be done for 30 minutes at a time for a week straight. I'll brief the techs that they will need to constantly monitor the temperature and just crack the cooling loop valve should it get too warm. I know i'm putting way to much faith these workers. Will report back with failure results. Ben Krasnow: DIY aquarium chiller |
The testing I do requires the specimens to maintain a constant temperature indefinitely. I just recently replaced all of our chillers.
If we have some old ones left, I will send one your way. |

I checked the lab, and the old ones are gone.
Someone must have thrown them out on my day off. I replaced them all with this: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1449065773 I'm not sure how much they cost, but they are probably pretty spendy. It will maintain temperature to a tenth of a degree all day. |

It will maintain temperature to a tenth of a degree all day. Looks like $900 used $1,300 refurbished, and $3,500 new. Wetted materials are stainless aluminum and poly. Not sure how harsh of process fluids they can have in them. That is spendy. But still probably an eighth the cost of what it will be should I need to convert one of our process tanks to that temperature. |
What type of poly?
It's not really in my wheelhouse, but my lab also does polymer testing and I work with some experts. |
Doesn't say, it just says poly lined.

Oh good grief. Someone in our HR dept just sent out a company announcement by attaching an .XML file to an email that just says "See attached file."
Hey, we all use Outlook and can view HTML emails -- how about you just put your content in the email? |

Active mass shooting going on now in CA. This will be fun.
|
On our fileserver right now, the HR department has 16 copies of the same 5gb Powerpoint presentation. This same pptx file also exists in the inboxes of at least 6 people in that department, and they have it copied to at least a dozen USB sticks.
I hate that department.

Edit: San Bernardino |
Heh, we finally banned USB sticks and external drives. So instead the network drive just fills up with multiple copies of the same documents.

We finally did that too. You plug a USB stick into a company computer and it automatically formats and encrypts it. Our marketing department hates us :giggle:
I'd love to get some de-duplication running on both the email and fileservers, just to see how much space is wasted. So I can drink more. |
