It isn't. I spray foamed the inside of the foundation this year, which helps, but the walls have nothing, which is made irrelevant in any case by the 100+ year old single pane windows.
It depends. When everything is working properly, it isn't bad.
Of course, everything breaks when it is needed most, so at the moment, I am burning more wood than usual.
I am building a simple heated floor system, so next winter should be much easier.

Every time you use the utag feature it PMs the user. If the user has instant email notifications setup for PM, they get an email. If they have a cell phone with email notifications setup, they get a buzz/ding/ring. Unless IB changed it, multiple uses of the same utag per post over multiple posts will send out multiple PMs and thus multiple emails...

That's why I did it. that part does not work :(
But we do have like 2 pages of posts in Aidan's build thread where we did nothing but utag'd someone (probably Hi_Im_Sean) just to see what happened.
