Well at least one asshole from Texas is getting his due.

Remember this video:

A jury just decided that worthless POS of a human is getting 15 years for imposing HIS sense of justice on the road.

That's all. Just shoe bro nonsense.

A while back I got a screamin good deal on some custom made wingtip boots. They're made of horween dublin leather that has all sorts of light/dark patterns depending on how it's creased and bent. I need to wear them more.

God damn, I really want those shoes.

Not surprised, sadly, that they only come in infant and toddler sizes...

Why do so few people make decent shoes in men's sizes?

czubaka 04-13-2017 08:25 PM

All Piloti shoes are narrow width as well. Like, super narrow.

Fuck Italians, with their little baby-feet...

Also, an open letter to literally every single person who drives a car on the North Side of Chicago:

Dear everyone,

Yes, we all know that there is a speed camera on the north side of W. Irving Park road, facing west, on the long stretch between Sheridan Rd and Clark St. And yes, we know that occasionally an out-of-towner gets nailed by it, despite the fact that there are signs announcing its presence several hundred feet away in both directions.

This does not change the fact that the speed limit on Irving Park is 30 MPH. You do not need to slow to 20 MPH wile driving past the camera. This fucks everything up in the west-bound direction in the morning, causing a ripple-effect of taillights and brake-checking that extends all the way back to Broadway.

Thank you.

I can understand phones substituting words in texts, but you would think that there were proof readers for published articles:

Planning and Engineering is also responsible for monitoring mosquito populations and arbovirus activity and directing mosquito control operations within the District. Mosquitoes are collected, counted and identified by species weekly FORM 70 different sites. Additionally, a representative sample of mosquitoes are dissected to determine their age and thereby identify their ability.

Edit: In the preview of the post, none of that other stuff showed up.

I'd offer you to take my size 10 up your behind but you'd probably wouldn't feel much of it :giggle:

Also, what's the deal with dress boots, when you have to pour concrete at 5, but also have a formal dinner at 5.30?

TV stations screw up schpelling all the time in the lower-thirds during the newscast, even at the network level. And these are people with a four-year college education which, focused largely on writing. Typos which pass through spell-check don't surprise me anymore.

If you're talking about the sort y8s posted, it's more style than substance. They say "I may be the boss, but I still remember how to turn a wrench."

If you mean stuff like the more upscale offerings from Red Wing like the Beckman or the Iron Ranger, they're great in environments where you need to climb antenna masts and walk across steel floor grids in the morning, but you have a 2:30 department-heads meeting with the GM in the afternoon.

Some of Red Wing's boots are super comfortable, look great, AND are functional in an industrial setting. There are also many of their boots that are all looks and no function. You have to pay attention to what they are certified for when you are at the shop. Especially if you have a strict reimbursement policy at work.

Red Wings "King Toe" offering are some of the most comfortable safety toe shoes I have ever worn. In my opinion, they still need a little extra heel cushion, but that is easily fixed with an insert.

Oscar 04-17-2017 07:45 AM

Fair enough. Never heard of Red Wings before but they do make some nice stuff I see.

For my needs, a hard-toe is overkill. I'm not working in a heavy industrial setting, just lots of ladder / tower climbing, and working around big, heavy cameras on wheels.

I bought a pair of the Irish Setter 878s about two years ago (Irish Setter is Red Wing's "bargain" brand) and they've held up wonderfully. Heavy leather, stitched sole, etc. They also happen to look good and handle scuffs and abrasions much more gracefully than any Timberland. Only downside is I can't drive in 'em. I just asked the Gf, she said no. There is a better chance of me going for CARB before getting a robot welder.
