If I had any reason to play with something outside our cluster, I'd probably be the Oracle stuff as recommended by Joe. From what I've read the ease of use factor is pretty high, like the old free version of VMWare.

Joe, I have some time off in the coming month, and I would hate to waste the opportunity for a shared whiskey.
Perhaps we should have a Midwest send-off?

So far I've replaced my map sensor and tried a friend's msm bog solenoid and same issues. I can get codes posted later this afternoon.

Can be activated at times by slight throttle, possibly TPS giving bad readings?

As long as I'm driving at pace, normal load. Not in traffic stop and go or idle at a light. Runs just fine.
So this is still ongoing. It is definitely a sensor of some sort as cycling the car off/on will reset the issue and make the car operate like normal. I just received a new TPS in the mail and will install it soon. Should I be looking at the idle air control valve as well?

Most recent, it happened this morning on my way to work. Was running fine until on the highway for some time. Fuel cut on decel suddenly didn't want to work. I shut the car off rolling at 60mph and restarted. Started to operate like normal again. wut do?

Get rid of the Xede and get a MS3. We have been saying this for ages.

So close to clean inspection though , Xede/reflash ecu are fine... only itches a little bit . It's the other issues with the car that are preventing it from inspection. I would have the same issues with MS3.

My inspection sticker says 10/15 *good thing I drive in traffic to/from work*

Until I get another daily to drive, this is what I'm stuck with.

You watch just ONE video on YouTube in Russian and suddenly the related video recommendations look like you changed the language preference.

I just realized that I have never washed my car*.
* = I am referring to my present car, the '04 that I bought a few years ago. I have obviously washed "cars" in the general sense many times in the past. Once every 2-3 years, at minimum, whether they needed it or not.
I don't mean "Oh, man, it's been, like, figuratively forever since I've washed it...", I mean that I have not ever one single time washed this car, aside from rinsing off the under-hood and undercarriage areas with a garden hose after each winter.

I've changed the trans and diff oil. I've replaced the brake pads. I've replaced the radiator. I've replaced the top. I've replaced the seats. I've dissected the factory radio to remove the Imagine Dragons CD that was stuck in it when I bought the car. I've removed, cleaned, and re-greased the side-window channels (which is surprisingly easy- everyone needs to do this.)

But I haven't washed it.

Not planning to, either.

My truck gets washed and waxed annually. The miata gets washed when the wife does it. She likes to drive it to work every now and then, and I guess she likes it shiny. I washed/clayed/waxed the miata when I first got it. I haven't had to touch it since.

A tourist is backpacking across the UK. Coming across a small town in Scotland, it's begun to rain. He happens upon a tavern, and goes inside.

The tavern is empty, save for the bartender and a grizzled old man at the bar. He takes a seat and orders a pint.

The old man says, Lad, look out there to the field. Do ya see that stone wall? I built that wall, stone by stone with me own two hands. Each one cut and fit just so. But do they call me McGreggor the stone-wall builder? Nooo...

Then the old man gestured at the bar. Look here at the bar. I built this bar with me bare hands. Selected the finest wood in the county, I planed that surface down by me own achin' back. I carved that wood with me own hard labour, for eight days. Gave it more love and care than my own child. But do they call me McGreggor the bar builder? Nooo...

Then the old man points out the window. Eh, Laddy, look out to sea...Do ya see that pier that stretches out as far as the eye can see? I built that pier with the sweat off me back. Nailed it board by board, drove the pilings in the sand against the wind and the tide. But do they call me McGreggor the pier builder? Nooo...

Then the old man looks around nervously.

But ya **** one goat...

Default We Need A Joke Thread

Little Bruce and Jenny are only 10 years old, but they know they are in love.

One day they decide that they want to get married,so Bruce goes to Jenny's father to ask him for her hand.

Bruce bravely walks up to him and says, "Mr. Smith, me and Jenny are in love and

I want to ask you for her hand in marriage."

Thinking that this was just the cutest thing, Mr. Smith replies, "Well Bruce, you are only 10. Where will you two live?"

Without even taking a moment to think about it, Bruce replies, "In Jenny's room. It's bigger than mine and we can both fit there nicely."

Mr Smith says with a huge grin, "Okay, then how will you live? You're not old enough to get a job. You'll need to support Jenny."

Again, Bruce instantly replies, "Our allowance, Jenny makes five bucks a week and I make 10 bucks a week. That's about 60 bucks a month, so that should do

us just fine."

Mr Smith is impressed Bruce has put so much thought into this. "Well Bruce, it seems like you have everything figured out I just have one more

question. What will you do if the two of you should have little children of your own?"

Bruce just shrugs his shoulders and says, "Well, we've been lucky so far."

Mr Smith no longer thinks the little **** is adorable.

I just got off a shift that involved fire, 20 year olds having heart attacks, rednecks wrecking snowmobiles into picket fences, and dead bikers belonging to a Mexican gang.
I am blessed.

^ I initially read that as "redheads wrecking snowmobiles" and thought "well, that's weirdly specific." So for a chuckle.

It's not extremely common, but it does happen.

This is how you know you're a nerd:

Laundry day.

You separate all the stuff out. Fold the underwear, do... whatever that thing is called where you put one sock inside the other.

The, before putting them into the drawer, you pull out the remaining socks and underwear, put the freshly-laundered ones in, then put the remaining ones back on the top. And you actually think of this as be a form of wear-leveling and / or distributing duty cycle.

I thought self-respecting nerds didn't even bother with laundry until every last clean pair of socks and underwear had been exhausted.
Huh, who knew?

I have an extremely specific laundry schedule, which is adhered to with laser precision. (One of the downsides of living in a big condo building, where you have to haul the laundry down from the 53rd floor to the communal laundry room in the basement. It's inconvenient to just do small loads "whenever.")

New articles of clothing are added to the rotation when old ones wear out, and since socks and underwear come in multi-packs, this inevitably leads to some surplus after a refresh.

Yep.
I love it.
It's amazing how much weird **** happens in even a relatively small town.
I may actually be cursed/ blessed with the bizzar though.
I proudly carry the designation "**** magnet".
