So i'm looking for a metal tray 24"x30" that's between .5 and 1" thick. Has to be hollow to run cables underneath.

So far the only thing i've found thats somewhat what i'm looking for are those trays for ferret and guinea pig cages but they are very thin and would warp. something closer to 20 gauge would be nicer.
Option b is buying a stainless steel table and ripping off the top but I cant find any suppliers selling just the tops and buying a full table at 80-100 bucks is a waste.
I need it to look nice on the outside. Inside will be face down so it will be hidden.

Ideas?

 

Would buying smaller trays and joining them together be out of question?
Also, have you looked at industrial kitchen suppliers? Look under "hotel pans" and "cookie trays".

 

Sheet pans is the name in the US and they come in various sizes, are aluminum, and have sloping sides.

Always available online at all the ususall suspects. Cheaper by a lot at local restaurant supply stores. Reasonably thick and rigid but wont support a human standing on it upside down.

i hate flimsy pans that cant take more than 350°F and warp inside oven.

 

Smaller trays would be ok as long as they have a good join between the 2.

Unfortunately, the sloping sides ruin it.

 

Can you get some aluminum sheet and bend/rivet the edges to whatever size you need?
Most places I buy various shapes/forms of metal have cutting - shearing - bending equipment, and they do not charge extra for those services.

yeah custom will be last resort but i'm expecting they will charge a lot more than 100 bucks to bend me a 1" tray.

So I got a call from the local guys here... they want 80 bucks for a pan that's 24x30 with a 1" lip and it's regular sheet metal.

I came to this Gem on eBay. Apparently, it's 18 gauge stainless steel and the table portion is 2" thick. I figure I'd cut it at the first fold.

Can a banjo fitting be used on a brake master cylinder instead of the usual hard line setup?

I have interference issues with the hard line going from the front of the master cylinder to the proportioning valve.

 

I don't see why you couldn't if you have the correct type of hose connection/banjo bolts. Motorcycles connect to the master cylinder in this manner.

 

If your master has banjo ports on it, sure. I don't think you can put a banjo bolt into a port designed to accept a flare nut, though.

Gonna weld in a fitting on my artech hot side for the egr. Does anyone know what the male fitting is for the exhaust side of an 01-05? I see bell sells a weld in fitting, but looking for other options.

 

CT scan results are in. Doctor's report was rather wishy-washy, but it says they can't really see any definitive leaks. The size of the aneurism appears to be shrinking as well.

This makes me happy, because it means I probably won't have to drive back to UMass any time soon.

It's 3 am, I am in the garage working on the weird *** turbo setup.
Back to back all nighters making sure turbos not hit block and manifold not hit hood is exhausting.
I. am. tired.

Interior is all done - seats taken apart and all metal parts sandblasted & powder coated, rear deck carpet replaced, new clockspring installed, even the pedals got new rubber pads.
Underbody is finished with three coats of undercoating, trans, exhaust, sensors all in place and PPF adjusted.

I still need to install the second MAP sensor, finish the new air box, plumb the vac and boost lines, button up and test the wiring, relocate some stuff, re-program the gauges, and install the manifold and injectors, and the IC, and the radiator...

THEN, I'll deal with the laser cutter to complete the active louvers.
Once all this stuff is done, tuning will commence.

I am tired and that's my rant for this evening.
