Got an email last night from the guy who bought my car. A few excerpts:I didn't think it was that fast.

traffic is slightly backed up as I pull out of the post office into a right hand lane. lane is merging left due to a work truck stopping traffic ahead. I put on turn signal to get into left lane like everyone else. Traffic is merging nicely and I finally get space to start working over. As I'm getting up to the cones and I'm about halfway into the left lane, lady in minivan decides her van should occupy that space and completely blocks me off. Into the cones I go, as I slam on my brakes, pull to the right and honk the horn. I watch her slowly (remember traffic) drive by my window making sure not to look at me.

about 50 feet ahead of us is a ******* red right so I pull behind her and get out of my car. I knock on her window to politley let her know shes a cunted ----. she wouldnt make eye contact, like before, and had a really snobby pissed off look to her face. i put my hand onto her window as I was leaning in and then started mouthing off and she turns, points at my finger and snaps "dont touch my car!"

of course, I put both my hands on her window and say "what now bitch, u mad?"

I continued to mouth off for a minute or so and I ended with something to the tune of "I just wanted to let you know that I did indeed run into the cones, so you win, you are a bitch you really showed me a thing or two"

I got back into my car and went back to work. I thought of doing a number of things to her vehicle, but alas, i was smarter than that and just exercised my right to free speech.

Nothing major, just stupid annoying. Shes just lucky I'm not Leatherface or ChuckyZ.

 

What kind of minivan was it? I bet she's on www.caravanforums.com right now describing how she pwnt some gay in a Miata.

****, how do you people find hardtops? I swear every time I look local, I NEVER see one within 250 miles. The ones within 250-350 miles are way over priced. I'd be thrilled to ****, to find one for $800 within 150 miles.

I'd be scared to see freight shipping costs on a hardtop, and would be scared to trust someone with it.

 

OEM hardtop for sale in Key West. 600 bucks!!!! I would pick it up if I didn't already have one, lol

Kind of on the same topic... anybody have any experience with Autokonexion hoods? I was looking back at ancient threads involving their extraction hoods when the company first started out, but I haven't really heard any info on the build quality of their products. My stock hood is fucked, and if I'm going to replace the hood, I would rather not replace it with another stock hood. A little heat extraction would be good. Only downer is that the hood I want is only offered in CF. CF on Miata looks like doo doo. So I will have to paint it.

Or does anyone else make a simple extraction hood that doesn't look like riced ****?

 

Once again I must hate on retarded American automotive engineering. Honestly I figured to get hired by an automaker you would have to be like the best of the best. What happens when they get hired? Realize that even though they know the best way to do it, they must conform because of budgeting? And if so, why are American cars not thousands less than imports?

1 vacuum line on this S10 somehow causes a misfire, and controls the fuel gauge. And on top of that they chose some sort of alien material for the line that disintegrates, but looks fine. As soon as I touched it, it literally crumbled.

I almost **** myself after I finished the head gasket, started it, and it had a miss. I replace that vac line and everything runs perfect. Plus I fixed this ladies fuel gauge which she asked me to do (and I wasn't going to because I'm not about to **** with the fuel tank if the sender is bad).

So win win. Car runs, and fixed something I didn't plan to.

But srsly, why the fuel gauge vacuum operated?
