and then i went home, ate a alot of chicken, and feel asleep at like 9pm.

if anyone cares, the circumference of my belly has reduced by 2 inches from measured in January.

also my altima was hesistating like crazy today. I probably have a clogged fuel filter, bad injector, bad fuel pump, or it needs new spark plugs, wires, and cap & rotor. blah i dont wanna spend a dime on it, im just holding onto it until a buy a new house, then get a new car. dont want to do it the other way around.

I did a 205lb clean yesterday. It took me three tries to get. I love those olympic lifts. I'm not that strong but I'm sorta decent with those total body power olympic lifts where you have to be coordinated and fast. Decent with all the lifts except for the snatch.

Note that is not a power clean-- it is a real clean where I had to drop into a squat to catch the weight. I think my max power clean is around 180lbs-ish. It's nifty cus I wouldn't have been able to stand up with that 205 if I hadn't done the proper clean technique and caught it with a squat.

yay

does nobody care about my subwoofer project?

I do. But I don't understand the mechanics of it. As long as Tom is happy, that is all I would care about.

It is going into the garage, isn't it?

I like how this guy is tuning with ear protection:

Hopefully he wasn't tuning in a scenario that could lead to detonation.

Subaru's have amazing knock sensors. At least that is what everyone I have talked to in real life say about them. They all scoff when I talk about tuning with detonation cans.

Pen2_the_penguin 03-27-2012 04:13 PM

my supra's clutch is toast... scary times to rev match driving.

NA6C-Guy 03-27-2012 04:59 PM

Who needs a clutch? Other than starting off, I completely ignore mine. Even then, I have to gas it and clutch, go into gear and get up to a speed that I won't stall, within about 1 second. Damn hydraulics are toast, and have been for over a year and I'm too lazy and cheap to fix it.

I still trust my ear over the knock sensor...but then again I don't really know what I'm talking about nor have I tuned a Subaru, nor could I, lol. I should also note that I cringe when it comes to tuning a car without a removable steering wheel.

On a related note, what are the chances I have a "ground offset" on my new VEI water/oil temp gauge causing it to read improperly? I groundededed it to the body, not the engine. The gauge says 160*f, MS says 195*f.

I did. I'm going to build a 6 cu ft ported enclosure with the two dayton audio Titanic MK3 10"ers I have lying around, coupled with a 900w rms rack mount amp. Tuned to 10hz f3. Now we're talking bass.

The Linkwitz circuit is nice if you don't have a processor for your sub.

I would be interested in seeing final pics of the build, in progress pics, or whatever.

I have looked at some tuning software some friends use for their Subaru's. It looks way more complicated then TS. I will stick with my full stand alone.

My VEI gauge is also a bit off from my gauge in TS. I have found that the grounding points are very strange. I grounded my gauge to the same ground wires that my MS ties into. The actual temp sensor that you install also needs to be "grounded", IE do not use red gasket maker to make sure that it will not leak.

One test that VEI Tech Support had me do was take the wire that goes from the temp sensor and touch it to the metal around the gauge, and see if the temps go up a lot. I believe they stop somewhere around 355 degrees. If that reads correctly then it is something with temp sensor and it not grounding properly.

My gauge is usually 10-15 degrees off what I see in TS. I generally just keep that in mind as I am driving and just use it for mental notes. Between it and the stock gauge that is still in my dash I feel comfortable driving with it reading a little off.

Thanks Lars. I may send that gauge back and order the "adjustable input range" sensors and do my own calibration so I can have accurate numbers.

I think I should have switched to idiot lights for oil and water.

Do they have "adjustable input range" sensors that work the VEI gauges. I did not see any on their website. When I talked to their tech support I believe he said the gauges are calibrated to their sensors. At the end of the day the oil temp sensor has seemed to work well and seems to be accurate and that was the one I was really interested in.

So, I've had 4 servings of Metamucil, two bowls of mixed grain, 6 fish-oil caps, and I'm expecting an epic BM. This is all part of my OTC battle against hemorrhoids. Who wants pics of my anus?

What?

Being 31 sucks, my body is falling apart. I can run longer than ever before, lift more than ever before, I'm sexier than ever...but my body is always screwed up these days. Oh well, time to put down some mud.
