The guys at work started talking about politics. That's when I literally just sat down and watched. One of them was loosing his footing in the argument and turned to me: "Óttar, what are your opinions on this?"

"Oh, I don't give a ****, I'm just sitting here to watch as this turns to a shouting match"

I didn't have to wait for 5 minutes for that to happen. I stay out of politics in public and vote for myself.

I'll grant people that up until that post, it's always been the former, but my teeth are on edge from that drek posted.

I seriously can't believe I'm actually genuinely angry over something posted on a forum, it's never really happened before. But whatevs, out for awhile. You guys have fun, hopefully I'll be back soon enough.
You say this a lot. If you're so confident, wanna bet on it?

To be fair to Blaen, he's probably the worst poster in the politics section

But man up, blaen99. Name the post that's so terrible and tell us why.

EDIT: Nevermind. I don't really care, and it's already been identified. Just think the "Oooooh I'm so mad, I am rage quitting this forum" attitude is silly. Really tired of it? Just stop checking the forum. We'll figure it out when you stop posting. No need for an announcement.

It might have been the Zimmerman "where's the bloody photo?" post. and then we gave him the bloody photo.

but i think he was already on hiatus before that.

but this could also be one of those "gotcha" tricks of his.

Asking Brainy to ban me for a few days.

That post has gotten me angrier and angrier over the night, so if people go "OMG, why is Blaen banned?!?" it is because I asked for it.

You don't ******* pull that **** when it involves the death of a friend. There's nothing lower, grosser, or more douchebaggery. I'll be back when I've cooled off.

No, (edited due to saying in anger). I had a friend who died at the embassy, and it has nothing to ******* do with ******* Zimmerman.

Now ban please.

Blean, having a personal connection to a tragedy doesn't mean you get a "WIN" button in the political debate over said tragedy.

It's sad what happened to your friend.

The fact that you knew someone personally involved has nothing to do with whether cordy should be allowed to post his opinions on world events.

If you need a break, fine, but know that it's because you yourself blurred the lines between areas of your life, not because cordy crossed the line.

EDIT: Also, just stop logging into mt.net. No need for a ban, unless you're a child who lacks self-control.

I've gone both routes. Of my many bans, one was for about four months and then, during another stretch, I went about three to four months without visiting the site. I must say that it's easier to not visit the site when you are doing it by choice.

There is also software I just heard about (in an article on productivity on nerdfitness.com) that allows you to block yourself from certain cites during certain periods of time. Obviously, that only works if you are able to download and install software on the computer you are using to access said websites.

It's not that I don't have time to complete work around the house,
it's that my wife doesn't have the patience.

Where the hell do you find a 90 degree 3/4npt to 3/8 compression shutoff valve? My house was built in the 70s and the fittings coming from the wall are 3/4". All the big box and even plumbing supply stores only carry up to 1/2" npt shutoff valves. Not even mcmaster or grainger have them. Wtf!?

Your reading comprehension is lacking today. The other side needs to be a 3/8" compression fitting. Also, 90 degrees. A 3/8" flare fitting would also be acceptable.
