gotta shift through all 7 gears fast! what make an cushy, awd sedan with 325hp not a decent car?

and yeah looking at the sedan, the 2-dr is all different.

triple88a 02-23-2014 04:57 PM

When u get to 7 gears why not just look into a cvt?

Oscar 02-23-2014 04:58 PM

Are you getting rid of the WRX? I feel like I missed something.

Because TQ.

Large trucks have been running 4 speed transmissions backed by a 2 or 3 speed for decades. A friend has a 15 speed truck (5X3) made in the mid 50s. Why not on cars?

I want a Euro Luxo Sport Sedan with a diesel that has two shifters and requires double clutching.

all of the TQ in all of the places:

just enough umpfh that it could just keep up with my wrx stock...

^^ I love the VQ's torque band

... but I will say I prefer the older 5-speed auto over the newer 7-speeds

wife currently drives a 5-sp; problem is she's a bit tried of it in traffic. Her last prelude was 4-sp auto and she hated it and is hesitent to go back to auto, but I don't think it will be an issue with that torque output.

it also seems like the X model doesn't come with a 6-sp manual, at least not the sedan. and she doesn't want another 2-dr because her doors are so long it makes it difficult to get in and out of the car. but I want her to have an X because I don't want her driving a rwd daily.

Otherwise she really doesn't like any other cars on the market.

she likes the geneis coupe and brz, amd REALLY likes the 2-dr G37, but 1. like i said, she doesnt want another coupe, and 2. she doesn't want to drive shitty brands. she wouldn't want to tell someone she drives a toyota, subaru, and/or hyundai.

Other than the G37 she likes how the is250 looks, but it's a shit car in comparison. Gets the same MPG with 100 less HP, handles much worse, and has a worse interior!

My wife drives a G37 coupe with the 5spd Auto and likes it very much. It has been rock solid since we bought it new in '08. The car has WAY more power than she'll ever use, but she never gets into it so (as long as traction control is left on) it leads a very easy life. My own DD is an '07 g35 sedan with the 6MT. Neither have AWD, (since norcal). Also, Infiniti never made an X model with a manual tranny, so don't bother looking for one.

Kinda like bicyles? Wait, that's a different thread...

My tractor has 3x3 speeds forward and 3 reverse. And I USE THEM ALL!

A Liberty passed my house while I was tinkering with the Miata this weekend. It was clearly not firing on at least one cylinder. I thought of your situtation.

That's because you are in the process of upgrading. Or at least that's a good cover story.

Sorry I've not been holding up my end of the forum. I'll try to find some good pony images for you later on.

Come to think of it, does anyone here actually own a Miata anymore?

NA6C-Guy 02-25-2014 04:34 PM

I do, for now. Town Car may be in my near future.
