nah, it's good I had the coupler pushed on too far, past my mark....it's golden now, and once the t-clamp is tighten its nice and flush...I acutally went back through my entire charge pipes and made sure all was good...they are...
now if i can only find a load lever i dont have to purchase....my mechanic friend cant find his, he was supossed to drop it off for me today.
but my head gasket and radiator hose is here, so I'm ready to get it running again.

yeah, there was no way to do it without it, I just ran to pepboys this morning and picked it up for $25 bucks.
so, I didn't just lose the rings, looks like I melted #1 and #4. But oil all over the top of all the pistons:

that engine blew **** smoke everywhere with no knock....you saw it on the dyno, from the bay, from the exhaust....it was only a matter of time. :gay:

eh, a little ugly, but the new short block looks alright.
the purpose of just buying the short block was to keep the price as low and project as easy as possible. If I reringed, I wouldn't use OEM parts. It would be an extra $100+ just for rings...then hoane, etc.

eh...effort...I'll build the old block and head i have, and swap that in one day....
this engine had less than 70K on it, headgasket blew. The owner was an old wine and cheeser and always maintained the service. The shop I bought it from had the block because the owner decide to give them the car whole in exchange for free service on his new 95 M he bought instead.
