I bought a Honda
My first one, '90 Civic Hatch. $460 for a car with 202k miles. Runs and drives well, needs minimal work to be reliable and comfortable. Wheel bearing, odd ball tire swapped out, and a normal tune up including the timing belt. Last thing I need is bent valves.

Do I smell work beater? I hope so. I'm sorry if I offend...but driving a "performance" car that's wrong wheel drive is against my religion. Driving it to work and getting 30+ MPG and not caring about wear and tear....that's cool in my book!

I got it strictly due to the fact that it was cheap and it gets twice the gas mileage of my truck which is my normal DD. Either way it will pay for itself in about 4 months.
What is the best site to read up on this bad boy. I've found some DIY honda sites to read up on all this weird TB injection for this 1.5L. I don't know if it is a DX or a standard. It doesn't have the DX badge.

Alot of info on honda-tech.com. For the most part, it's kind of like the ricey crap at clubroadster, in the Honda world. However, there's ALOT of good info if you search well...unlike clubroadster.
Wait, now I think about it, I think you and Brain are already members there. I remember reading a fabrication/welding thread you guys started there.

I got pwned. No compression on #2 cylinder. Troubleshooting tomorrow to see if it's rings or valves.
I've been on honda-tech and hmt for atleast two years it seems like. Maybe only a year and a half. Both are good sites but mostly only for the fab sections.

Welcome to the club! I have an 88 Accord myself. Bought it off my friend for $500. It's ugly, noisy, and smells funny inside....but the gas mileage is GREAT. It's my first car with working A/C.
You shouldn't have trouble finding a cheap *** good engine for it. My favorite part about old Hondas is the amount of parts that can be had for cheap.

Easy way to tell is that the basic(CX?) one came with a 4-speed and a less powerful motor, DX had the 5-speed. I had an '89 for about 5 years - pretty good handling for a WWD beater, since it had good steering and weighed about the same as a miata. Doing the TB on Hondas kind of blows.
Sorry about the compression, I hope you're just going to replace it with another D15 someone pays you to take from their garage.
