So I was just in my backyard taking a look at the miata and trying to motivate myself to work on it tommorow, and to take a break from xbox live.

I saw something drinking from the pool, good size animal with a tail. I yelled at it and stomped at it.....then the fucker came running at me!! Son of a bitch, I just smoked and I'm no condition to fight some crazy animal. lol

All I had was my car to climb on...right on the cracked windshield and new hood....lol. Whatever it was tried to get me even when I was on the car. It finally went a little away so I grabbed a stick of bamboo from the garden and got my flashlight. I was gonna get that fuck, but man it was pissed or something. It was trying to sneak around in the garden from the light, to get closer to me rather than far away.

Fuck that, I just came inside!! I couldn't tell if it was a raccoon, fox, possum, big cat, lion? I was pissed I didn't know what the fuck it was though!!!lol

lol....yea well that was part of it I'm sure, but it was pretty dark out. I wish I had the flashlight when it was trying to climb the side of the car to get me. It was smart man, it knew how to avoid the light and scurry around. I would see his eyes pop up every once in awhile. I was seriously out there for close to 45mins fucking with it.

Hopefully my neighbors didn't hear me outside....lol.

I went out this morning and saw that whatever it was ripped a fucking huge hole in the pool cover. Left some muddy scratch prints on my car from when it was trying to climb up and get me.

From now on, whenever I go outside for anything at night, just like at the farm.....I'll be going out with the bb gun.

And as far as smoking goes, I know some of you guys here are against it, but it beats smoking cigarettes. I quit after almost 9 years and drink like 1 time a week now....so i guess pot is my only vice at the moment.

But damn, lastnight was fucking trippy....

I've had 2 run-ins with rabid raccoons around us in the last year - last one was pretty damn big and very pissed off about something - chased me and the wife thru the woods for about 200 yards before he lost interest. Rabies is some shit you don't want to be involved with.

Well the prints aren't spectacular, but they might give you an idea of the size it was. It stood up and got his front feet by the convertible top plastic. The sun is kinda baking the mud off the car, so the prints are pretty fucked now.

And the pool cover has a bunch of prints on it, but I cant lean out far enough to get them on camera good. I bet he comes often, I'll be watching for him. I will not let him get the upper hand on me again! :)

I'm back and forth between power washing the house and working on the miata.....so no shoes for me today. Plus its fucking beautiful out today, I need to work on my tan. :)

Too bad the miata is takin apart and I cant take it out for a drive. My dad rarely takes out his 57' t-bird, so I might have to rock that a couple times before the miata is back on the road.

We have a couple ponds around, but the nearest lake is a couple miles. From the rips and tears on the pool cover, the noises it was making, and its shape it had to it.....I think maybe it was a raccoon. Rabies...who knows? But I'm telling you guys it was fucking pissed off...:eek5:

well with Canine rabies being non-existant and reported cases of rabies being down to around 7,000. I fail to see where rabies is nearly a large threat. Though the east coast and mountain regions have the most concentrated occurrences.

Raccoon's are bad bitches you don't want to fuck with them. They can be rowdy without rabies.

For some reason or another I brought it up before in a thread awhile ago about my other run in with a raccoon. That was when I was living on a farm and the fucker got into the chicken coup and killed off like 6 of my chickens. That time I was half asleep, probably a little drunk, and my job was on the line. I cornered him with a basketball sized rock to try and cave its head in.

But being in the dark, unarmed, and not sure what the fuck is coming at me definitely scared me like a girl lastnight. Whether I had toked up or not, I might have reacted the same. :giggle:

I'm pretty sure it was a whistle pig. I am gonna make a trap this week, I'm 99% sure he lives under our shed. There is a hole buried under the shed, and no way in/out of the backyard. I checked the entire fence line today. I'm thinking it eats from the garden and drinks from the pool.

Its funny you say that. I'm kinda a night owl and ever since that night, I've been going out on the patio with a flashlight to check around for him. I have the stick of bamboo with me when I do this of course. ;)
