Default I think I just saved someones life

I was at my office enjoying a little miataturbo, and I hear a loud bang followed by wheel screeching. I knew exactly what it was and where it came from, so I went to take a look. I discover a car that was on fire almost in front of my shop.

I haul *** to grab a fire extinguisher, and by the time I got there, the flames were almost 6 feet higher than the hood of the car. There were 2 people inside, niether of which were getting out of the car anytime soon.

I am not sure we (me along with other people that stopped) could have gotten the fire out without the big fire extinguisher I had at the shop. We are in a semi rural area, and I am not sure a big fire extinguisher would have showed up in time.

I am watching the carnage unfold out my office window as we speak. My hands are still shaking.

Well Joe, the girl in the car had all her teeth knocked out from the accident, and she was quite a large girl. That was why it was so critical to get the fire out.

Nice save, sometimes you have to do something other than pointing and laughing.

Nothing like a warm response from the brothers on the forum.

I think Miataturbo should have a crisis hotline. I can see it now.

Caller, " I am really depressed and I think I am going to hurt myself."

Joe, " So, tell me how you plan to do it. I think you should consider a firearm." This would then be followed by a discussion into thermodynamics with a lengthy rant on ballistics.

Braineack, " Sorry, you are not a supporting member. I am afraid I can not help you."

18psi, "As long as I get to bang your mother, who gives a ****!"

With all kidding aside, that was some freaky ****. I mean looking into the passenger compartment was like seeing some gory movie scene, except this time it was real. I will never forget it.

That is tough stuff man, glad you were there to save the fatties. They need love too.

In all seriousness, I have had a gummer, and it is nothing to write home about.

miata2fast that's pretty freaky and you did save somebody's life (2 probably). It's a crazy feeling in those dire situations when you simply act with purpose, unfazed by the actuality of what's unfolding before you until after the fact.

No, she was only like 10-15 years older than me, but she was rough. It was a fucked up situation that only happened because of a series of unfortunate (for me) events.

I am not as ramped up as when I created this thread. I think the turkey, stuffing, and family time had a lot to do with it.

I think I need to start looking into the process of asking to lower the speed limit on this road. If the one passenger in the car died in the hospital, which is a really good possibility, that will be the third person I witnessed being killed on this stretch of highway. I am getting tired of it.

55 mph is just too fast for this area. The area has grown enough that it is getting too dangerous and the frequency of injury and death seems to be getting worse. What really scares me is the fact that my old house is so close to the road. If a loaded tractor trailer goes off coarse and hits my house, I could be a victim.
