Here is my not-so-baller bicycle
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1370408863 A local shop put it together after a guy rebuilt a brand new race bike with a whole set of new parts, so they put all of that stuff on a Surly Pacer frame, and I bought it. Its about that time when it gets unbearable hot down here, so its stuck on the trainer for a a while. |

I have 1 cheap pair($45) and 1 really cheap pair($29.99). Is it really worth $50-100 per pair for the nice ones? Can someone break down the whats and whys to high end cycling shorts? |

Bibs.

Bibs are far more comfortable than plain shorts. If you do any long rides, invest in quality bib shorts. Chamois butter is also your friend.
Cheap <$95 bibs don't last very long. The good bibs are usually over $160 (less when on sale) will be more comfortable than cheap ones and last for years. I machne wash in cold water on the gentle cycle. Tumble air dry or on the lowest heat setting. |
I hang my bibs to dry, keeps them from going see through. Bibs are worth it, and price isn't always an indicator of quality. Also, it takes a few hours to wear in a chamois.
I'm going to buy a track bike this weekend. It will never see the street though. |
