I love love R32's and just came across this video on youtube.....not sure how one would interpret or use the data collected, but I think this idea may have some merit....

Needs more flappy string, less attempted "Top Gear" style cinematography.

I was kinda hoping for some "before splitter string" and "after splitter string" Could have split screened it for the viewers.

Exactly! W/out before & after it's useless. I like the idea though. Will be trying it myself if I ever get around to all the projects started but not finished.

One might consider adding a little more mass to the strings somehow. Might stabilize them more so you can see the bulk movement and not all the small random turbulent vibrations.

thats how they used to do research on aircraft wings, still use that for an easy demonstration of how the air flows over the wings today.

I read this thread's title as:

Interesting way to see your caT's aerodynamic properties...

I was mildly disappointed when I saw I was mistaken.

hahahaha....lmao

Is it wrong that I watched that three times?

OP: Valid theory, but like others have said, needs more of a controlled experiment approach to see what has the effect you're looking for.

I can think of a few experiments I'd like to perform on the cat/ceiling fan guy. Most of them involving similar situations and amusement rides at the fair. I'm thinking 30' in the air and flinging him 40' against a wall is about proportional.

yeah, if he did it on purpose it's messed up.

Didn't think about that until know as it just looked like a crazy cat antic, but why the **** else would you have a cat toy strung to the fan blade.

I know some people that hate cats, but even they wouldn't set up a camera to document torture baited by play.

you'll need a top-fuel wing to go with that splitter.
