Ok, attached is a scan from the April 1997 issue of Autocar magazine, in which the interviewer talks to the driver of a UK-based Formula Ford team about their unorthodox engine mod during the '96 season. For maximum authenticity, I believe someone other than myself ought to host this on an otherwise legit web site, and post a direct link to it.

Brainey- how on earth did you find that link so quickly?

Jesus Christ Joe, that's fantastic. A little scary and OCD, but fantastic none the less. You are gifted, you will make a fine ambulance chaser.

Truly amazing. That looks great! I see that the post has been moved to the Power Section.

I've thought about milling the head but that's more money I don't want to spend and I don't think the results would be quite as powerful as i'd like
I love how shaving the deck is too expensive ($30-40) and will not give him the performance he's after.

If you shaved 1mm.

that would be......

3.07" diameter at .020" high, so .1480 in3 subtracted from each cylinder.

that would raise the CR from 9.4:1 to 9.97:1 same damn effect without the fail.

Go buy some JB-weld and glue two coins to the center of the piston. Be neat with it and make it look professional. Make sure the piston is clean when you glue it.

cjernigan has his own website and can host things IIRC. Ask him to do it for a good cause.

I think it would be better if you just attached the article instead of hosting it from your own site called "boostedmiata". Looks fishy.

You could run it through tinyurl. Or just say you found it in an old stack of magazines you had.

It's never too late to lie about it's origins when and if questioned.

Btw, since some of you have moderator status please delete this thread so it can't be found. Pleaase, it is very easy to be found out. Whoever was supposed to know already knows so it better be gone.
A new one can be started for giggles but without the details

Very stealthy. I went to look for this thread in the BS section, and said to myself "WTF? Even if someone deleted it, normally I can see those."

I must admit, I've always been a bit leery of using MT as a staging ground for this sort of thing, based solely on the fact that it is so very public. I'm really amazed that there are so many folks over there who still don't seem to know about it.
