Can we agree to simply call them all "fluid beds"?

Fill it with whatever you want. Maybe you need a triple-point bed.

also: CAPS LOG heh.

Right after we call your pillow a "used condom pillow".

Shuiend: Guilty as charged, I was lazy, didn't search. Please forgive

The Savvyrest that Y8S linked looks interesting/nice but out of my price range. We have about $2000 to spend and that's for a king size. I don't actually want to spend $2000 on a bed, I'd much rather spend $600 and spend the other $1400 on an EFR turbo but the last time we cheaped out on a bed we got stuck with the horrible POS we have now...

Thanks again for the info and links, we're on our way out to go lay in some beds...
Right around that price range is our bed. We just picked up a Serta about 6 months ago, and my girlfriend used to wake up about a dozen times a night, it was really unsettling for me, but with this new mattress, she rarely wakes up anymore, it really is a huge difference from our old cheap mattress. Our queen must have been 7 years or older by now. The one we got was what they called the "I series," which is an alternative to a full foam bed. It is coil spring with about 2" of foam/gel on top. This is similar to taking a spring bed and putting a memory foam insert on it, I suppose, but it really is incredibly comfortable, and supportive. The memory foam beds I feel can be kind of gimmicky, because although they seem great at first when you sink in, it is a really unnerving feeling for some people to sleep like that, and I get really hot when I sleep, and I sweat my *** of in those kinds of beds.

Either way, here's the link
Serta iSeries | Serta.com

And our king was ~1800 plus tax, delivered. Try and find it cheaper if you can, I feel it was over-priced, but in our oil-booming to ******* heaven town, there is 0 selection and 0 competition basically.

chance - The iSeries is one of the beds we laid in last weekend when we went to the local retailer. I think both my wife and I liked them but she liked one of the Sealy foam mattresses better.

Thanks for the review on it.

I've never pictured JoeP as ever sleeping. In fact, I always think of Joe as a demon in male form who, according to a number of mythological and legendary traditions, lies upon sleepers, especially women, in order to have sexual intercourse with them. But Joe never sleeps himself...

UPDATE : We ordered the Healthy Foundations 10" memory foam mattress that was linked to early in the thread. I wasn't 100% sold on it but the trial period and easy return policy justified trying it out. If we don't like it we're out $75 and almost no hassle to return it. We have 365 days to try it out. My wife really pushed for this one, for some reason.

It's supposed to be delivered tomorrow or Thursday. I'll update again after we spend a few nights sleeping (romping...) in it.

Price was $1700 delivered for a king size, which equals $50 more Subaru bucks. Woot. Dave Ramsey does not approve...

I am guessing he says Dave does not approve because he put it on some sort of CC since he is getting Subaru bucks for it.

This

I paid for it with a credit card, to earn rewards, specifically the Chase Subaru Mastercard.

I generally carry zero balance on this card, and for this purchase I will pay it off immediately. So, for me it's a no brainer. It's fifty free subaru bucks, which I will definitely use.

In that sense Ramsey would not approve, using a CC at all is basically a no no. Howevery, Ramsey would approve that we waited to buy a bed until we had the cash in hand to pay for it outright.

I put a used car on a CC before. I got mad points and paid it off right away.

Dave Ramsey is dumb in this regard. And I'm a pretty good source on wealth; I've never filed for bankruptcy.

That's Gordon Ramsey...

and I'm sure he has more money than you; so I'd probably take credit advice from him.

haha yes good job on waiting until you have the cash flow for the bed! It called capitalizing on a good situation with the free suby bucks, so now basically your bed cost you 1650 lol! basically got a 3% discount by doing that!

Dave Ramsey is dumb in this regard, sort of.

I understand the logic that, anyone who is in desperate need of his advice and teachings, probably shouldn't ever have a CC again along with it's temptations of buying things you can't afford.

I, however, am not an r-tard (arguably) and am not tempted. So, I will happily continue to take advantage of CC rewards, whilst heading towards debt freedom (dam you student loans...)

Anyway, back on topic, the mattress is supposed to be delivered today. Maybe I'll be sleeping on it tonight.

Cheers
